Bookend Goals From Kießling Guide Leverkusen To Victory

LB Joo Ho Park looks on dejectedly as Leverkusen celebrate

Losers of their last two league games and a disappointing 10th in the table, Sami Hyypiä's Bayer Leverkusen squad got the bounce back performance that they so badly needed, picking up their first road victory of the season in a 2-0 triumph over FSV Mainz here at Coface Arena.
Longtime Leverkusen striker Stefan Kießling provided the goals, scoring in the 16th and 88th minutes while in goal, 21 year old keeper Bernd Leno earned his third clean sheet of the campaign.
As for Mainz, they now drop to 1-2-2 and must quickly prepare for a match against invading, and in-form FC Schalke 04, who themselves are coming off a very impressive 1-1 draw with Bayern Munich.

Mainz No Match For In Form Schalke

Boateng's double helped pace Schalke to victory

Jefferson Farfan and Jermaine Jones each found the net and new boy Kevin Prince Boateng chipped in with a brace, as visiting Schalke romped to an easy 4-0 victory over FSV Mainz here at Coface Arena.
It was Boateng who started the scoring, ripping one home from just inside the area before the game was even twenty minutes old, his goal was followed twelve minutes later by a brilliant run with the ball by Farfan who used his blazing speed to split the defense and go in all alone on goal where he easily beat Heinz Müller to make it two to nil.
Down by two at the half, Mainz had their chances to pull within one early in the second half, but a crossbar shot by Shinji Okazaki followed by a brilliant save by Timo Hildebrand on a hard low shot by Zdenek Prospech kept the game at 2-0. The visitors would add two more later in the half courtesy of Boateng and Jones to finish off the scoring at 4-0. With the win Schalke move to 3-3-0, one of just three remaining unbeatens, the others being VfL Wolfsburg and Borussia Dortmund.

This is awesome. Looking forward to seeing where things go for Mr. Tuchel. What a hilariously good name for a kraut manager of a crap club btw...lol.

Speaking of which, my crap club manager is an Irishman called Martin Story.

Well thank you sir! When I was looking for a real life manager who's career I could take over I fully expected that I'd be in England, but TT fit the bill absolutely perfectly, and since I've never played a Bundesliga CM I had to do it.

Hertha Berlin 0-1 FSV Mainz

Scoring Summary

Road Success Continues For Mainz

Mainz players celebrate the final whistle

A strong defensive effort led by GK Christian Wetklo, who in his first start of the year earned himself a clean sheet helped FSV Mainz secure just their second win of the campaign, a well deserved 1-0 triumph over winless Hertha Berlin here at Olympic Stadium in Berlin.
Substitute Sebastian Polter scored the lone goal of the game, and the first for his new club in the 66th minute when he slotted home a wonderfully placed cross by left back Zdenek Pospech, allowing his club to win their first match since defeating Stuttgart on opening day.

Stuttgart and Mönchengladbach aren't bad ideas, that's right, if you want to play in the Bundesliga. Club Brugge from Belgium also needs a little bit help. Roda JC from The Netherlands was a relegation team last year but now a bit more mid-table. It's your choice ofcourse

@Orion: nicely written and amusing to read! Keep up the good work man, you're doing a brilliant job.

Thanks mate!
And rest assured the pace of this will quicken significantly once I finally settle on a slider set. If all goes well, that'll be tomorrow.
