5 points in August isn't half bad. Great Capital One Cup win...hope the run continues!

Good luck, I'm always following your threads!

I'm pretty satisfied considering I'm the worst-rated team in the league by at least a full-star.

Bradford looks like an easy home draw, and thanks! Same to you!

An intriguing match with a good team, I decided to rest five key starters ahead of my Capital One Cup match two days later. After a nervy start on the defensive side of the ball for us, Kieffer Moore put us ahead off of a corner, heading home from point-blank range in the 26th minute for a shock lead. Our keeper Hennessey made an unbelievable stop just before halftime to keep it one-nil. The second half was spent entirely in our own half, defending with our bare teeth. Excellent result against an established team for this level. With the victory, we shot up to 10th in the league table!

Featuring a full squad minus one player, we got off to an excellent start, with Paddy Madden putting us up 1-nil in the 8th minute on a cracking shot. We dominated the first half and absolutely shredded Bradford's poor defense, but couldn't finish any of our chances and only led 1-nil at halftime. Despite winning possession 69-31 and not giving up a single shot the entire match, we only managed to score the one goal which was a bit of a concern. Nonetheless, we advanced in the cup which is all that matters!

After an atrocious first half hour on a wet, sloppy pitch, we managed to break through against our much-better visitors, when Ralls' rebound was slotted home calmly by Paddy Madden in the 28th. Wigan continued to dominate, and although they are nowhere near the team they were in the EPL last season, they still dominated us from start to finish. They finally broke down our brick wall keeper Hennessey in the 74th, when Maloney finished off Kléber's rebound to tie the match. We hung on for dear life in the final quarter hour, eeking out a draw against the promotion favorites.

Nice job so far, especially holding your own against tougher relegated EPL clubs.

A tough draw for us, since we outplayed them for the full ninety minutes. Middlesborough didn't impress me at all- a few pace abusers on the wings, but that's about it. Their defense was very weak in the air. Our gracious hosts led after 18 minutes through Whitehead, who capitalized on a bad turnover in our own 18-yard box and finished past Hennessey. Paddy Madden, yet again our MAN OF THE MATCH, buried a header just four minutes later to equalize. He then scored an almost identical header in the 32nd minute to put us in a deserved lead. Their pacey striker Adomah made our keeper Hennessey pay for a poor turnover in the 64th, when he tied it up. All in all, I'll take a point away from home any game, but this was one where we probably deserved a little more.

We currently sit 12th in the 24-team Championship, which is very respectable considering how blatantly terrible our players are compared to the rest of the league. I plan on doing a full league table along with league leaders once the month of September wraps up. Fun fact- we're only four points out of a playoff spot ATM!

We'll finish off the month of September with three games in seven days:

21st - @ Huddersfield (23rd) (League)
24th - @ Crystal Palace (Cup)
28th - v. Brighton (6th) (League)

This is how the rest of September went:

Sep 3vs Bradford City (Capital One Cup)Won, 1-0

Sep 21at HuddersfieldTied, 1-1
Sep 24at Crystal Palace (Capital One Cup - R.O.32)
Won, 1*-1
Sep 28vs Brighton & Hove AlbionTied, 1-1

Obviously not the greatest results in the league, but at least we're still picking up a few points! Never played a month on FIFA before where all I've done is draw league matches

The match against Crystal Palace was so intense- Round of 32, so we're getting along in the Capital One Cup...we went to their stadium, went down 1-nil early, but managed to batten down the hatches and tie it late in the 86th through Feeney, who is looking like our best player right now. Somehow survived extra time despite being a man down, and none other than Feeney scored the winning penalty, as we took the penalty shootout 4-3!

Back in the Win Column
Glovers luckily pick up three points feisty Bournemouth

It wasn't pretty, but Yeovil Town got the job done. The Glovers won in league play for the first time in over a month, with Ed Upson providing the winner in the 48th minute.

The match started off well enough for Yeovil Town, who dominated the first half possession-wise (65-35) but failed to create any clear-cut chances. Paddy Madden put their only half-chance well over the bar in the 17th minute.

The second half saw both teams unusually use all three substitutes at halftime, and the match began to turn the way of Bournemouth. The cellar dwellars began to play like a top-table team in the second half, dominating Yeovil for the final half hour, but they couldn't break through Marek Stech in the Glovers' net.

"A lucky three points as I don't feel we played our best football, but we got the victory and that's all that matters, especially against a team that's going to be in the relegation battle," stated Yeovil Town manager Michael Hutchinson.

Stech looked serviceable in goal for Yeovil Town, and barring another loan signing he should be the starting goalkeeper the rest of the season, as Wayne Hennessey was returned to Wolves after his loan ended last week.
