Re: **The Rise of Peterborough United**
Peterborough vs QPR
Our biggest test this season, we've been in great form and so have QPR, led by our captain Tommy Rowe I decided to give Nicky Ajose the start.
The match began with Kranjcar missing an early opportunity, I gave Mark Little the man marking job on him to keep him from doing any more damage. The skill and strength of QPR is felt instantly as the Peterborough players get pushed and shoved around the pitch
We were caught out defensively at the 11' minute mark with Johnson scoring the goal after the ball bouncing off the crossbar from a powerful Charlie Austin shot, Our defence seemed rattled but we found some composure as the match went on with Payne taking a powerful shot from outside the box to an excellent save by the QPR goalkeeper!. The QPR defensive players seem like giants to the Peterborough attack, much stronger far more skilfull
Peterborough couldn't make use of 2 corner opportunities but it was a counter attack by Lloyd Isgrove that set up a goal to the experienced McCann as the equalizer at the 31'minute mark. But that wasn't the end of the Peterborough assault as they caught the QPR defence off-gaurd again with Nicky Ajose starting to get dangerous he fired a shot to be saved by the goalkeeper, but the reflection was caught by Shaun Brisley who slammed it into the back of the net at the 33' minute mark!.
After 2 quick goals, it was time too re-adjust and just take the rest of the half very carefully, and keep possession of the ball, So far Lloyd Isgrove has been sensational and the experience of McCann up forward is carrying us at the moment!. Peterborough go into half time 2-1 and the team stays un-changed for the half-time break.
Second half begins with a band as the frustrated QPR give away a free kick, a through ball to Nicky Ajose see's him break his goal drought and put us up 3-1 at the 50' minute mark.
Peterborough played possession ball well for the next 20 minutes launching counter attack after counter attack, but to no avail.
Some flashy dribbling skills and a well timed shot sore Benayoun put one in the back of the net at the 70' minute mark 3-2 ,Peterborough need to hold on, Sub in Assombalonga for the tiring Nicky Ajose.
Assombalonga wasted no time letting QPR he was healthy and dangerous by firing a free kick that really tested the goal keeper, QPR were using stregnth and skill and Peterborough were using fresh legs and speed.
Peterborough walk away victorious with Nicky Ajose man of the match.
