Reds Rising: The 2013-14 Campaign Of Liverpool Football Club
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A FIFA 14 Retro CM

Let's try this again.
Coming into the 2013-14 season, fans of Liverpool F.C. were cautiously optimistic that the club could finally break into the top four for the first time since the 2008-09 season.
Playing with a swagger and confidence not seen since the glory days of the 70's and 80's, LFC mounted an unexpected and completely enthralling title challenge, but a devastating 2-0 loss to Chelsea on the 27th of April was followed one week later by a disappointing 3-3 draw with Crystal Palace, ultimately dooming the Reds to a heartbreaking 2nd place finish, two points behind eventual champions Manchester City.
But, What If?
For this CM(Which will continue following the release of FIFA 16) I'm going retro! Using the tremendous NG version of FIFA 14, I've decided to replay the 2013-14 season of LFC(and beyond) with the number one goal of course being to win the league championship. Along the way I will compare my results to those in real life, as well as sharing any interesting tidbits I find along the way. For those of you skeptical of another Orion special, fear not. This will succeed, and will continue indefinitely.

Nice result there, bud. Stoke couldn't find their shooting boots till late!

Love how 14 looks. Much less chaotic than 15. Going to watch some of your older videos to go down the nostalgia lane

Bear with me here guys, this will get rolling. I've been really busy of late in our search to find a new house, and finally, we've decided to go new construction about 20 mins outside of the city. Although there's still much to do, I should be able to get back to gaming in short order.

Match Day #2
24 August 2015
Villa Park, Birmingham

Aston Villa 1-1 Liverpool

Scoring Summary
56' Daniel Sturridge - LFC
79' Aleksandar Tonev - AVFC

Scrappy Villa Hold On For A Point, LFC's Gerrard Goes Down With Injury

With his second goal in as many games, Daniel Sturridge looked to have given Liverpool a second straight win to open the season, but a late counterattack by a desperate Aston Villa was rewarded when winger Aleksandar Tonev slipped one past a diving Simon Mignolet to earn the host their first point of the young campaign.
On the injury front, Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard suffered a sprained knee midway through the contest and could miss as much as four weeks.
