Gutwrenching Defeat Lands Marcelino Squarely On The Hot Seat

Kevin Gameiro fires home a late winner for Sevilla

In desperate need of a result and facing the daunting specter of a road match at Sevilla, struggling Villarreal hung in the match like an underdog looking for one big shot, and when Anthony Martial fired home an equalizer from just inside the area it looked for all the world as if the visitors had gotten what they came for, but deep into extra time, disaster reared its ugly head, as Kevin Gameiro somehow got behind the Villarreal defense, and beat keeper Sergio Asenjo to the short side, giving Sevilla the shocking 2-1 victory, and landing Marcelino squarely on the hot seat with none other than Real Madrid waiting in the wings.

England Turn To Marcelino In Shock Appointment

Marcelino has gotten rave reviews for his work at Villarreal

After barely scraping by during an overall subpar Euro qualifying campaign, and the subsequent retirement of National team coach Roy Hodgson the English FA have turned to Villarreal head coach Marcelino as their new manager in the hopes of injecting new life into the squad ahead of next summer's Euros.
Known for playing an attacking 4-4-2, the 49 year old Marcelino will need to get to work quickly with friendlies against Spain and Poland coming up within two weeks, he acknowledged as much as his introductory press conference, saying: "There is much work to be done, but we have the players here to be successful, and successful quickly, I expect nothing less than a European championship in 2016, as well as success going forward. England has not won the World Cup in some time, I aim to change that."

Re: Villarreal: Rise Of The Yellow Submarine (A FIFA 15 CM)

I am in 2016/2017 season with Everton/USA. Bored of just USA friendlies. Might see if I can pick up a Euro or South American team to get to World Cup.

Re: Villarreal: Rise Of The Yellow Submarine (A FIFA 15 CM)

After having a ton of fun with an Atletico cm as well as a shock Germany cm with Neverkusen (it will be a shock to Orion at least) I had gotten thoroughly sucked in to FM15. Decided to come back to fifa for a bit and have another go at Italy, with Inter. Not caught up yet but I just wanted to say I'm using your current tweaks to the community set Orion and it's fantastic. Your tweaks are always so very on point.

I'll be following this for sure.

Thank you good sir! I've always wanted to dive headlong into FM, but Imma bit wary because I know if it sucks me in, I'm done for lol. Inter's a great squad, need a pretty big rebuild, but they do have lots of cash

You know, I had no thoughts really of taking over a national team, but I was offered the England job and couldn't resist, especially with the Euros coming up in 2016. Should be cool!
