Founded as Milan Cricket And Foot-Ball Club in December 1899 by a pair of English expatriates, AC Milan is one of the most successful football clubs in the world, having won a total of twenty nine major trophies including a record fourteen European trophies and four world titles. Domestically, Milan have amassed eighteen Serie A titles, five Coppa Italia titles, six Supercoppa Italiana titles, and two Serie B championships.

Despite all of this success however, darkness has fallen over Milan. Since capturing their 18th Scudetto during the 2010-11 campaign, the Rossoneri have slowly deteriorated, and in 2014-15, the bottom fell out. A nightmare season by all accounts, Milan finished the campaign in 10th place, a whopping 45 points behind three time defending champions Juventus, adding insult to injury, Milan were excluded from European play for the second year in a row.

Re: AC Milan - The Rossoneri Returns! - FIFA 16 Career Mode

With their 6th manager in 3 years AC Milan looks for "stabilita" with new man Kevin Groviano. The young man has been out of football for a year after successfully leading Athletic Bilbao to back-to-back La Liga titles in FIFA 14, "It's a great honor to lead such a historic club. They have fallen on rough times as of late but mark my words, the Rossoneri will be back. Forza Milan!"

Rumors have already started to spread about what Groviano will do to right this ship. 5 in the back, perhaps 3? The preseason will be interesting to see how Groviano will employ his tactical acumen on this aging side.

Re: AC Milan - The Rossoneri Returns! - FIFA 16 Career Mode

After a 2014-15 season that saw Milan have little bite up top by the way of goals the Rossoneri went out and splashed some cash on some notable, yet under-the-radar strikers.

Carlos Bacca made his way to the San Siro from Sevilla after Milan activated his 30million euro buyout clause. The 28 year old Colombian international is a physical target with a penchant for scoring goals. At 28, he's in his prime and should hit the ground running.

Luiz Adriano is another experienced striker who should provide Milan with some pace up top. While not the best finishing record, Luiz's pace should stretch defenses and allow Bacca room to operate in a 2 man strike-force.

Also returning is the one & only:

A proven scorer in Serie A Super Mario will once again get another chance to prove his worth in his favorite colors.

Re: AC Milan - The Rossoneri Returns! - FIFA 16 Career Mode

With the season right around the corner, Milan packed their bags and headed to the UK for a preseason tournament featuring a good variety of clubs. Russian powerhouse Zenit made the grip as did Dutch stalwarts Ajax. Sunderland and Newcastle made the trip from Tyneside. Despite missing new frontman Carlos Bacca and CB Cristian Zappata the new manager was excited, "It's a good chance to see where we're at, from a fitness level and to generate a good competitive environment. It should be a good measuring stick."

With that being said Milan put on a good showing beating Newcastle and Ajax 1-0 and 3-1 respectively. A 2-2 draw with Zenit saw them through to the knockout round where they ultimately fell on PKs to Sunderland, "It was a good showing. The guys are a little rusty and they're trying to get some chemistry before the season starts. I think we'll be fine."

Milan will be in action next week as the TIM Cup kicks off with Milan hosting Serie B side Latina.

Projected Starting Lineup:

GK - Diego Lopez
RB - Abate
CB - Romagnoli
CB - Mexes
LB - Antonelli
CDM - De Jong
CM - Montilvo
CM - Bertalucci
CAM - Bonaventura
ST - Balotelli
ST - Adriano
