Re: Grabbing The Ring: WWEs Next Generation (WWE 2K16 Universe Dynasty)
Sometimes I just let it go and make my own highlights if I want to get things up. For PPVs I will probably go into more detail and possible regular show main events after the first PPV, but haven't decided.

Re: Grabbing The Ring: WWEs Next Generation (WWE 2K16 Universe Dynasty)
GTR NXT Week 1C
The Show opens with the announcers hyping the main event, which is NXT Champion Tyler Breeze taking on top contenders Apollo Crews and Tye Dillinger. We cut to Dillinger being interviewed in the back, as he's hyped as one of the hottest talents to take advantage of the reboot. Dillinger says that he has been hot, and he drops that he upset Intercontinental Champion Stardust on Smackdown. He's interrupted by Tyler Breeze, who himself drops that Tye lost to the debuting Jay Masters, and it doesn't matter how Perfect his 10 is, he was not the Gorgeous NXT Champ. (1) Lucha Dragons (NXT Tag Champs) vs The Ascension The Dragons have had a tough time since the reboot, losing on NXT in the first week to the Varsity Club (Gable and Jordan). The Ascension are moving up the tag ranks, having beaten the combination of Fandango and Sami Zayn on Smackdown. The Match:
Spoiler
Post-Match Analysis:
Spoiler
The Ascension wins after a full nelson slam from Konnor onto Kallisto. With the Lucha Dragons on the way down and the Ascension on the way up, things are looking strong for an Ascension-Lucha Dragons tag title match at this month's Arrival. We cut backstage to Jay Masters being interviewed. He talks about beating the hottest act in NXT - Tye Dillinger - last week, and reminds people on how he is better than them because he is rich. The character seems to be a cross between Tyler Breeze and Hakeem Lyon from Empire. He is interrupted by Heath Slater, who promises to use Masters as HIS stepping stone to Tyler Breeze's NXT Championship. (2) Angelo Dawkins and Sawyer Fulton vs The Varsity Club (Gable & Jordan) Gable and Jordan have clocked a big win over the Lucha Dragons, but lost some momentum after a loss to Enzo and Cas that helped the Realest Guys In The Room get bumped up to Smackdown. This is the post-reboot debut of Dawkins and Fulton. The Match:
Spoiler
Post-Match Analysis
Spoiler
Gable and Jordan get back on track after Chad Gable pins Sawyer Fulton with a dragon suplex. As Dawkins and Fulton are essentially enhancement talent, this was the expected result. A video package is shown of debuting talent "The Archangel" Aaron Cameron. He is a former NCAA basketball star that has chosen the lights of wrestling over playing in Europe. He tells the story of getting the Archangel nickname for being bigger than most of the people he grew up with yet getting a rep for being the guy to defend little guys. (3) "The Archangel" Aaron Cameron vs. Bo Dallas This is Cameron's NXT debut. It is Bo Dallas' second match against a debuting talent, with him clocking a loss to Jay Masters when he debuted in the first post-reboot week. The Match:
Spoiler
Post-Match Analysis:
Spoiler
Aaron Cameron picks up the debut win after the Lie Detector. This was an extended squash; though Bo got in solid offense, including hitting the Bo Dog, it was after a really long match that Cameron controlled for a majority of the time. We go backstage to Apollo Crews, discussing the upcoming main event. He talks about being ready, having already debuted on Smackdown and defeating the Miz. He is interrupted by Breeze, who calls him an Uggo, and saying that he may beat someone with a MoneyMaker, but he can never beat someone that is gorgeous. (4) Heath Slater vs. Jay Masters This is Heath Slater's post-reboot debut. Jay Masters debuted with a win against Bo Dallas, and then continued his winning ways against Tye Dillinger. The Match:
Spoiler
Post-Match Analysis:
Spoiler
Jay Masters wins with a rope-assisted Backstabber. This was a back and forth match that saw Slater pull out a lot of impressive offense, including a top rope legdrop and a near fall with Sweetness (ironically Masters' nickname) from which Masters was saved by grabbing the ropes. We see a video package for NXT Women's Champion Emma. It focuses on the three way dance between her, Dana Brooke, and Bayley in which she won the title by turning on Brooke and finishing her. Dana has run with that, embracing a babyface role against her former mentor. (5) Dana Brooke vs Emma vs Summer Rae vs Bayley This is Emma's first post-reboot match. Dana Brooke had a loss against Nia Jax last week which marked her newer, underdog character. Bayley and Summer Rae were part of a four way match on Smackdown with Alexa Bliss and Alicia Fox, in which Fox pinned Summer for the win. The Match:
Spoiler
Post-Match Analysis:
Spoiler
Summer Rae pins Emma with a Showstopper leg drop. The NXT Women's division is in chaos, with no one diva gaining obvious traction against the others. It will be interesting to see how the Women's Title is defended at Arrival. (6) Tyler Breeze (NXT Champ) vs. Apollo Crews vs. Tye Dillinger Tyler Breeze has been on a run since becoming NXT Champion, defeating Zack Ryder and Adam Rose in successive weeks. Crews got a big Smackdown win against the Miz, while Dillinger got a bigger Smackdown win against Stardust before losing last week to Jay Masters. The Match:
Spoiler
Post-Match Analysis:
Spoiler
Tye Dillinger pins Apollo Creed after Breeze's Beauty Shot. This was a great match spoiled by a poor ending. WWE 2K16 is really great at match simulation (I'm still taken aback with every well-timed rope grab or weapon attack to end a match), but there is still one GLARING difficulty - multi-person matches. This is now the second match (with the four way match from Raw being the first) where one person stood there and watched another win rather than intervening. Besides that, though, Dillinger is set up as the new Next Guy on NXT, and will probably be looking at a title shot despite not actually pinning the champ. Re: Grabbing The Ring: WWEs Next Generation (WWE 2K16 Universe Dynasty)
GTR Smackdown Week 1C
------------------------- We cold open to a single-cam shot of Dolph Ziggler. He talks about how he's been tearing up the scene since the brand reboot, and tonight he'll do it again against Sheamus. He then tells the fans they're lucky, because it's happening right... now. (1) Dolph Ziggler vs Sheamus Both men have been pushing to gain attention post-reboot, with Ziggler actually putting wins behind him. As we approach Extreme Rules, both are vying to put themselves in the title picture. The Match:
Spoiler
Post-Match Analysis:
Spoiler
Dolph Ziggler wins with the Heartbreaker Elbow Drop Series. Dolph has been pushing for Exclusive Raw status for a while, and this helps tremendously. Sheamus continues to tread water, and there are some rumors that he may be interested in retiring soon. We come back to Renee Young in the back with Rybaxel. She asks Ryback how he is handling the seemingly negative momentum he has going into his Extreme Rules United States Title Match with Kevin Owens. Ryback pauses for a second, and Curtis Axel jumps in, saying that Kevin Owens is at Extreme Rules, but tonight is about Tyson Kidd, Cesaro, and Rybaxel. Kidd and Cesaro appear almost on cue, and tell Ryback that he certainly won't be Kevin Owens if he can't get past them... and he can't get past them: Fact. (2) Rybaxel vs. Tyson Kidd & Cesaro The is the debut of both teams post-reboot. Ryback, however, is feuding with Kevin Owens, though Owens has gotten the better of their encounters thus far. The Match:
Spoiler
Unfortunately, some of this match has become lost in the Internet Ether. Here is the ending. Post-Match Analysis
Spoiler
Rybaxel picks up the win after Ryback hits the Shellshocked on Tyson Kidd. Ryback needed the win here, though it is interesting that they inserted Curtis Axel into things more. It will be interesting to see what happens with him if Ryback does win the United States title; his former partner Damien Sandow is pretty much available down in NXT... We cut to a scene in the back, with Alicia Fox talking to someone standing off-camera. Alicia tells her that OF COURSE the idea makes sense, and that she (the other woman) needs exposure to get to the next level. If she sticks with Alicia and follows the plan, Alicia guarantees she'll get to the next level. We fade away before we hear a response. (3) Asuka vs. Cameron Asuka is coming off of a big win against Diva's Champion Nikki Bella. This is Cameron's first match post-reboot. The Match:
Spoiler
Post-Match Analysis:
Spoiler
Asuka wins with the top-rope Falcon Arrow. Cameron helped put on a surprisingly entertaining match; perhaps a feud or two down in NXT may help her become a solid rotation player. We return to Renee Young standing in the back with Intercontinental Champion Stardust. She asks him about the repeated sneak attacks and run-ins Stardust has used to gain a solid upper hand on Itami. Stardust giggles, and begins discussing how the cosmic equinox reveals nighttime truth as dust motes, but then slowly stops talking as he is stared down by something off-camera. We see that it is Itami himself, and Stardust slowly walks away as Itami sliently fumes at his foe. (4) Titus O'Neill (w/ Darren Young) vs. Erick Rowan (with Luke Harper) The Prime-Time Players have been pushing well through the tag ranks, but they have hit a wall thus far against the Wyatts. The Match:
Spoiler
Post-Match Analysis:
Spoiler
Luke Harper got ejected for interference, and O'Neill wins with the Clash of the Titus. A needed with for the Players that will leaves in question what happens in a tag team situation. We cut back to the announcers, who give us an update on this Sunday's NXT ArRival PPV. The #1 Contenders are set, with the Ascension facing NXT Tag Champions Lucha Dragons, Bayley getting a rematch against Emma, and Tye Dillenger indeed getting a title shot against NXT Champion Tyler Breeze. In addition: two ladder matches will determine the #1 Contenders to both the NXT Women's and NXT Championships, with the competitors announced on Sunday! (5) Finn Balor vs. The Miz Finn Balor has been on a tear thus far since the reboot, while the Miz is still trying to regain his footing. The Match:
Spoiler
Post-Match Analysis:
Spoiler
Balor continues to impress thus far in the rebooted WWE. The Miz becomes another person that could potentially help rescue Damien Sandow from NXT. We come back from commercial to the entrances of Charlotte. Alicia Fox then comes out, but is not out alone. (6) Charlotte vs. Alicia Fox (w/ ???) This is both Charlotte and Alica Fox's first chance at regaining momentum post-reboot. The Match:
Spoiler
Post-Match Analysis:
Spoiler
Nia Jax comes out with Alicia Fox. Alicia Fox wins with a backbreaker and her feet on the ropes. Nia Jax factored heavily into the match, and it is probable that this isn't over between Charlotte and the duo. (7) Hideo Itami vs. Intercontinental Champion Stardust Itami will receive an Intercontinental Championship match against Stardust at Extreme Rules. He hasn't picked up a win since the reboot, typically due to shenanigans involving Stardust. The Match:
Spoiler
Post-Match Analysis:
Spoiler
Hideo Itami rushes Stardust in his entrance, and stays on the offense until hitting Stardust for Go To Sleep for the win. Itami desperately needed a win, and the show closes with just that image. |

Re: Grabbing The Ring: WWEs Next Generation (WWE 2K16 Universe Dynasty)
GTR NXT ArRival PPV01
---------------------- We open to pyro, and then Byron Saxton standing alone in the ring. He welcomes everyone to NXT ArRival, and pushes the three big title matches: Bayley getting a rematch against Emma in a Last Woman Standing Match; The Ascension attempting to regain the NXT Tag Team Championship against The Lucha Dragons, and Tye Dillinger going mano-a-mano with The NXT Champion Tyler Breeze! In addition, though, two huge #1 Contender's Ladder Matches were on tap tonight! For the Divas: Nia Jax... Alexa Bliss... Summer Rae... and Dana Brooke! He begins to announce the Superstar participants, when he is interrupted by Damien Mizdow! He angrily marches to ringside, declaring that HE knew who the six Superstars were: Apollo Crews... "Sweetness" Jay Masters... Heath Slater... Bo Dallas... Baron Corbin... and Adam Rose! There was one incredibly important name missing: DAMIEN MIZDOW. This is an affront that cannot stand, and until he is given a spot in the #1 Contender's Match, he was on strike in the middle of the ring! His strike is immediately interrupted by the music of "The Archangel" Aaron Cameron! Cameron tells him, as he walks up the ramp, that he has a message from General Manager William Regal: Mizdow has gotten his wish, or at least half of it. He is going to be in a match, but it would not be the #1 Contender's Match. It would instead be a No Hold's Barred Match... against "The Archangel Aaron Cameron"... and that match is right NOW. (1) No Holds Barred: "The Archangel" Aaron Cameron vs Damien Mizdow The Match:
Spoiler
Post-Match Analysis:
Spoiler
Aaron Cameron wins with the Heaven Sent Spinebuster. Much more competitive than Cameron's first match, and a nice use of Mizdow to open the show. (2) Diva's #1 Contenders Ladder Match: Nia Jax vs. Alexa Bliss vs. Summer Rae vs. Dana Brooke Nia Jax has recently allied herself with Alicia Fox on Smackdown, but she appears alone here. Alexa Bliss has recently turned face after abandoning Blake and Murphy. Summer Rae has been rehabilitating her image as a performer in NXT. Finally, Dana Brooke has also recently turned face, going it alone after Emma turned on her to gain the NXT Women's Championship. The Match:
Spoiler
Post-Match Analysis:
Spoiler
Alexa Bliss grabs the briefcase to become #1 Contender. Of the people in the match, she is the best one to move into the title scene, assuming Summer Rae is meant to stay a bit in NXT. This doesn't portend well for Bayley. (3) Tornado Tag Extreme Rules Match: The Hype Bros. vs. The Varsity Club The Hype Bros. are coming off of a loss to the Ascension, while the Varsity Club are coming off of a win against Fulton and Dawkins. The Match:
Spoiler
Post-Match Analysis:
Spoiler
The Hype Bros. win after Zach Ryder destroys Chad Gable with stairs. Didn't see that one coming; it was almost a double-turn worthy level of performance, complete with some booing of Zach Ryder. We'll see how they follow up with this. (4) Last Man Standing NXT Women's Championship Match: Bayley vs. Emma (c) Emma won the championship after turning on Dana Brooke during a NXT Women's Championship Triple Threat Match; she savagely attacked Dana Brooke with a chair and pinned her instead of Bayley for the championship. This is Bayley's first time facing Emma since. The Match:
Spoiler
Post-Match Analysis:
Spoiler
Bayley wins after Emma fails to answer after a Bailey-to-Belly. Pretty much the expected result: There feels like there's too much left between Dana Brooke and Emma, and Brooke is CLEARLY not ready for a World Title feud. On the other hand, Alexa Bliss JUST turned face, so does Bayley turn? Or do we have a "mutual respect" Women's Title feud that promises to be bleh? We'll see. (5) NXT Championship #1 Ladder Match: Apollo Crews vs. Jay Masters vs. Baron Corbin vs. Adam Rose vs. Heath Slater vs. Bo Dallas Apollo Crews suffered his first loss in NXT last week against Tye Dillinger. Jay Masters has been undefeated in NXT thus far, including wins against opponents Heath Slater and Bo Dallas. Baron Corbin and Adam Rose are debuting tonight post-reboot. THE MATCH:
Spoiler
Post-Match Analysis:
Spoiler
Apollo Crews grabs the briefcase to become #1 Contender. Interesting choice, foreshadowing a Tyler Breeze main event win. Fairly solid showing by all involved. (6) NXT Tag Team Championship Match: Lucha Dragons (c) vs. The Ascension These two teams have gone in opposite directions as of late, with the Dragons dropping matches left and right and The Ascension looking unstoppable. The Match:
Spoiler
Post-Match Analysis:
Spoiler
The Lucha Dragons retain with the powerbomb/corkscrew elbow combo on Viktor. This is the almost polar opposite of what was to be expected. Surprising win for the Dragons, who may find their way out of NXT yet. (7) NXT Champsionship Match: "Perfect 10" Tye Dillinger vs. Tyler Breeze (c) Tye Dillinger won a three-way match with Breeze and Apollo Crews to earn this championship match. He also has a win over the Miz and a loss to Jay Masters. Tyler Breeze is the NXT Champion, has recent wins over Adam Rose and Zach Ryder, and was not pinned by Dillinger last week. The Match:
Spoiler
Post-Match Analysis:
Spoiler
Tye Dillinger pins Tyler Breeze after the PerfectDriver Dreamer Driver to win the NXT Championship. On the one hand, Tye Dillinger has certainly proven to be worth the investment of a championship run, and Tyler Breeze has certainly proven himself ready for the main roster (and is rumored to jump straight to Raw). Still... we're looking at Tye Dillinger vs. Apollo Crews for the belt, and that just screams of a Perfect Turn. Last edited by JAMRenaissance; 11-15-2015 at 08:10 PM. |
