Re: Die Schwarzgelben (The Black and Yellows) | A Borussia Dortmund FIFA 16 MM

SYDNEY – Borussia Dortmund finished off a magical preseason tournament in Australia, defeating the Spanish club Sevilla, 1-0—on a Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang header, from a brilliant volley from Marco Reus on the left wing. The goal broke the scoreless affair shortly before the break, and Dortmund was able to go into a much more conservative effort into the 2nd half.

First year Manager Josh Hedges was thrilled with the team’s effort, as was the board—awarding Dortmund a nice £8,200,000 to the team’s overall budget. Those funds will certainly help the club recoup the expenses spent on two 5* scouts that are currently working the youth arena in Germany and Italy.

Hedges’ Dortmund club open their 2015/16 Bundesliga campaign at the Signal Iduna Park on 15 August, hosting Borussia Mönchengladbach—who are expected to field a very strong side this year. They find themselves in the Champions League alongside Manchester City, Juventus, and Sevilla FC.

2015-16 Bundesliga
Match Week #1
15 August 2015
Signal Iduna Park | Dortmund

Dortmund Power Past Mönchengladbach 3-1

DORTMUND -- Borussia Dortmund kicked off their 2015-16 Bundesliga campaign with an electric 3-1 victory over Borussia Mönchengladbach at the Signal Iduna Park on Saturday afternoon.

Shinji Kagawa scored the first goal for BVB in the 2015-16 season, with a strike in the upper right corner just before the break. The game would remain 1-0 until the 70’ when Mönchengladbach’s Traoré would score on a header from a corner set piece.

Dortmund, who had been playing conservatively sitting on the 1-0 lead, turned up the head and got a surprise goal from Gonzalo Castro just seven minutes later--and then put the icing on the cake with a Marco Reus screamer in the 84' to give Dortmund a 3-1 victory.

2015-16 Bundesliga
Match Week #2
23 August 2015
Audi-Sportpark | Ingolstadt

Dortmund Can't Hold Lead | Draw Ingolstadt 2-2

INGOLSTADT-- Dortmund found themselves 2-0 up just 38 minutes into the contest, getting two goals from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Shortly before the break, Mathew Leckie scored from a set piece, bringing the hosts to within one.

The match would remain at 2-1, and seemed destined for a 2-1 finish, until Leckie was tackled in the box, and a dodgy call from the referee resulted in a penalty, in which the aforementioned Leckie connected on his 2nd goal of the match, and earning the draw for Ingolstadt.

Durm was disgusted as the penalty leveled the match

Hedges Named Boss of World Cup Champions

BERLIN -- The German National Team, defending World Cup Champions, have named Borussia Dortmund Manger Josh Hedges as their new boss. Hedges, only managing BVB for 3 games so far, has compiled a 1-1-1 record at the club.

This is most certainly a surprise decision, but Hedges is eager to lead the Germans through their Euro 2016 qualifiers in the coming weeks. He finds the club in good shape, sitting first in their group for qualifying, with just two matches remaining against Portugal and Northern Ireland in the first week of September.

Hedges will have some familiarity with the squad, as there are already 4 Dortmund players currently called up to the national team. This experience for Hedges will also allow him to closer examine some German Internationals for the incoming January transfer window--his first transfer window at Dortmund.

Nice choice, and good start!
A win and a draw, not bad, not bad at all.Going forward it should be quite interesting to see how you juggle both club and country.

Thanks! Yeah I used the 'perk' as I created myself German and wanted to go ahead and jump into big boy Int'l MGMT.

For some reason I couldn't get it to work on '15, so--this is super cool to me, my first time managing an international club. Love being able to use my BVB players too, and also scout/use some of the younger boys to see if I want to bring 'em in to the club.

This freaking patch can't come soon enough...

Dortmund Survive In Hanover | Win 1 - 0

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Hanover – A rainy Saturday afternoon in Hanover provided a surprisingly exciting match between Hannover and the visiting Borussia Dortmund. The players were eager to get this match in after the international break, in which many of the Dortmund players played in Euro Qualifiers for their respective countries—and, perhaps more importantly, Dortmund boss Josh Hedges got his first taste of international football, leading the defending World Cup Champion Germans to a 2-2 draw with Portugal, and a 3-0 smashing of Northern Ireland, to see them win their group, and easily qualify for Euro 2016 next year in France.

Hannover came out of the gate swinging, launching 5 shots in the first 4 minutes of the game, as the Dortmund defense looked rather shaky after the two week break. Things finally slowed down, and the game was a stagnant 0-0 draw until the 2nd half. Dortmund fired 15 shots on the afternoon, but was able to connect on only 1, a strike from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the 60’ to break the stalemate. Despite a barrage of shots from Hannover in the closing minutes, Dortmund was able to hold on to the 1-0 victory and secure the much needed 3 points, to put them in a 4 way tie for 2nd place, already 5 points behind Bayern Munich (4-0-0).
