Re: Max Wolters | FIFA Coaching Career

With 5 matches left in the Championship season QPR have hit their worst form of the year. Losing 1 and drawing 3 in their last 4 matches. But QPR have been lucky Huddersfield Town have fallen into the same type of rut and have not pulled away in the standings. But now with 5 matches remaining 4 teams are within 3pts of the top spot.

QPR(73), Huddersfield(73), Norwich(72), Sheffield Wed(70) are the 4 teams at the top with 4 matches remaining. Max Wolters is excited about the remaining schedule as he believes his club is in the best position to win it all. “We play 2 of the top 4 clubs so we hold our own destiny in our hands so to speak. We do not have to count on others to get results for us, just need to go out there and win.”

The remaining schedules for each team are;
QPR – Bristol City(a), Sheffield Wed(h), Brentford(a), Nottingham Forest(h), Norwich City(a)

Huddersfield – Preston(h), Derby(a), Fulham(h), Birmingham(a), Cardiff City(h)

Norwich – Fulham(h), Preston(a), Brighton(h), Leeds(a), QPR(h)

Sheffield – Newcastle(h), Cardiff City(h), Derby(h), Ipswich(a), Fulham(h)

Sheffield Wednesday

Pre-Match
QPR host Sheffield Wednesday in a huge showdown between top 5 clubs with only 4 matches remaining. Wednesday come into this match 5pts behind QPR who are at top of the table. QPR are 2pts ahead of 2nd place Huddersfield and 4pts ahead of 3rd place Norwich. Max Wolters has a mixed lineup in this one as QPR had a match only 2 days prior. Leading goal scorer Sylla will be on the bench to start with Emmanuel-Thomas getting the nod.

Re: Max Wolters | FIFA Coaching Career

We're Going Up!
With two matches remaining QPR have earned automatic promotion following their 1-0 win over Brentford and Huddersfield Towns 1-2 loss to Fulham. London rivals helped earn QPR the promotion but Wolters believes the outcome was imminent. "We have full confidence that we will finish top 2 even without help from other clubs. We held our destiny in our own hands and believe in ourselves greatly. While it is nice to have promotion secured, our goal from day 1 was to win the league. That goal is still there and we hope to accomplish it Saturday."

Saturday QPR host Nottingham Forest who they beat 2-1 earlier this season. If QPR win, they win the league. A draw or a loss means the league title will come down to the last match of the year at Norwich City who are currently 2pts behind the R's but have a +12 GD over them. "Winning Saturday is huge for us. Being able to go into that last match with nothing to play for will be great. I know there are a few young players who would like to make their debuts and Henry would like one last run out before retiring. But we have to focus on Saturday and get the 3pts before we can have fun and let the players play."

Switching to some bad club news, Josh Onomah has suffered a torn ACL and will be out for 7 months. Onomah is on loan from Tottenham but QPR had very high hopes to sign him after this season. "It's heartbreaking to see. Josh came here and made an impact right away and convinced us that he is a player of the future for us. We were going to go in big this off-season and do everything we could to sign him. We are not giving up on him but will have to see how he recovers and we will come back around to the subject of buying him."

Re: Max Wolters | FIFA Coaching Career

Nottingham Forrest
With automatic promotion secured, QPR have less pressure going into their last 2 matches but QPR still need a win to be league champions. A win against Nottingham Forrest would seal the deal for the R's but anything less would have it all come down to the last match of the year at Norwich City, a team that beat QPR easily earlier this year.
