Sporting KC at NYCFC:
August 16, 2017-
Villa scored 47’ to give NYCFC a 1-0 lead out of half. Blessing would answer for KC as he tied in up in the 81’. Ring and Wallace both received yellow cards for NYCFC. A 1-1 tie drops KC a spot but they remain 3 points above 6th.

Chiefs at Bengals week 2 preseason:

August 19, 2017-

The Chiefs' offense will look to get going against the Bengals. The Chiefs are at the bottom of the league when it comes to offense this preseason. Luckily for the Chiefs, the Bengals are near the bottom in defense as well. Hopefully we can see more from this team as many of the position battles are open but no one looked to separate themselves last week.

KC wins on a rainy game. This week they were on the other end of a blow out as Chiefs won 27-3. It was 7-3 at half as Cincy broke the tie to take a 3-0 lead. It was all KC after that as Alex Smith scored a rushing TD to make it a 7-3 lead. In the 4th the Chiefs opened up by scoring 3 touchdowns. Cincinnati only had 173 yards (46 rushing, 127 passing) as the Chiefs defense played lights out forcing 1 interception. The Chiefs looked great. They had the ball for 15 more minutes then the Bengals. 338 total offense (164 rushing, 174 passing). This is the type of game that the Chiefs will need come regular season.

Chiefs at Seahawks game 3 of Preseason:

August 25, 2017-

To start things off we report a signing. K Roberto Aguayo has agreed to an 1yr/ 940k deal with the Chiefs this has sparked some debate as Santos has been been 1/3 FG and 3/4 extra points this preseason. Aguayo comes in after being cut by the Bucs. This will be one of many battles to keep an eye on as it's reported that the QB's and RBs will share first team reps tonight. It will be interesting how the offense battles will take place against a good Seahawks defense.

Seattle's defense is too strong. Seattle wins 33-12. There was a lot to come from this game as turnovers are the Achilles heel of this team. 5 turnovers with 3 being in the red zone. Chiefs gained about 80 more yards than the Seahawks did. Time of Possession only favored Seattle by 2min. KC had 340 yards (98 rushing, 242 passing) compared to Seattle 264 yards (138 rushing, 126 passing). The QB play had to go to Patrick Mahomes as he made rookie mistakes but at times he looked like an all pro. Rushing Charcandrick West looked good but he continues to struggle holding on to the ball. This will be interesting how game 4 plays out.

Stats:

Seattle

QB Russell Wilson 12/20 107 yards, 1 INT, 53.5 rating

QB Austin Davis 2/2 19 yards, 1 TD, 145.8 rating

RB Thomas Rawls 18 attempts, 72 yards, 4.0 avg, 1 TD

RB Eddie Lacy 12 attempts, 46 yards, 3.8 avg , 1 fumble

TE Luke Wilson 3 receptions, 40 yards

WR Paul Richardson 3 receptions, 34 yards

WR Amara Darboh 1 reception, 2 yards, 1 TD

DT Malik McDowell 6 tackles, 2 TFL

S Earl Thomas III 5 tackles, 2 interceptions, 1 FF, 2 TD

CB Richard Sherman 2 tackles, 2 interceptions

K Blair Walsh 3/4 FG, 0/4 Xp

Kansas City

QB Alex Smith 3/9 51 yards, 2 INT, 13.9 rating

QB Patrick Mahomes II 17/31 202 yards, 1 TD, 2 INT, 58.8 rating, 6 rushes, 28 yards

RB Kareem Hunt 6 attempts, 12 yards, 2.0 avg, 1 reception, 14 yards

RB Charcandrick West 14 attempts, 54 yards, 3.8 avg, 1 fumble, 1 reception, 8 yards

WR Marcus Kemp 4 receptions, 38 yards

WR Jehu Chesson 3 receptions, 50 yards

TE Travis Kelce 4 receptions, 43 yards, 1 TD

MLB Derrick Johnson 6 tackles

OLB Dee Ford 4 tackles, 1 sack

S Miles Killebrew 3 tackles, 1 int

K Cairo Santos 1/2 FG, 27 long

K Roberto Aguayo 1/1 FG, 22 long

Scoring Summary:

Q1 (SEA) Walsh 26 yard field goal

Q2 (SEA) Thomas 101 yard int td (missed kick)

Q2 (Sea)Walsh 36 yard field goal

Q2 (KC) Santos 27 yard field goal

Q2 (Sea) Thomas 37 yard int td (missed kick)

Q3 (Sea) Rawls 2 yard TD run (missed kick)

Q3 (Sea) Walsh 40 yard field goal

Q3 (KC) Kelce 12 yard pass from Mahomes TD (2 point failed)

Q4 (Sea) Darboh 1 yard from Davis TD (missed Kick)

Q4 (KC) Aguayo 22 yard field goal

Preview:

One preseason game remains as the Chiefs will host Titans on August 31st. This will have all the position battles and the last roster spots determined. Then it will be a long 72 hours for some as the final cuts will come in.

August 26, 2017-
Espinoza has agreed to a contract with DC United after his contract is up with KC. KC had already replaced him by buying prospect Carlos Cermeno from FC Dallas.

In the 16’ Medrando gave KC a 1-0 lead but it was quickly answered by Alexander to tie it up in the 17’. Gerso 71’ scores the go ahead goal to give KC a 2-1 win. The win moved the lead for KC to 2 points over Seattle.
