BASEBALL IS HERE!!! In a division that includes the Los Angeles Dodgers and the pesky San Francisco Giants who never seem to go away, the Arizona Diamondbacks will have their work cut out for them.

Not many improvements for the team overall but according too many, the Diamondbacks were shopping Zack Greinke ALL off-season long. Either they had no suitors or were just asking for way too much in return. Either way, Zack Greinke will be the opening day starter for D-Backs.

Said one GM, “I expect the Diamondbacks to be very active around the trade deadline no matter what their record is come July”.

The Diamondbacks will rely heavily on AJ Pollock and Paul Goldschmidt.

Quick glimpse at the Diamondbacks team stats from 2017 and a few KEY FREE AGENT SIGNINGS around the MLB….

Ah damn you're missing out lol. The Stanley Cup Playoffs are the most intense atmosphere in all of playoff sports I have ever seen. It's all good if you can't get into it.

Suns Season End, Lottery Bound. Jay Triano Fired as Head Coach

April 11, 2018

And that is it for the 2017/18 NBA season. The Phoenix Suns did not come remotely close to sniffing the playoffs after finishing with a 28-54 record. With the lottery draft about a month away, they would currently have the 5th pick in the draft and hold an 8.8% chance of getting that number one pick.

Now with the firing of head coach Jay Triano, the Phoenix Suns will need to address another answer as far as who will be leading the team at head coach.

Jason Kidd is a name that has been floating around quite a bit but at this point, its too early to tell. The Suns front office want to make sure they hire the right person to turn this thing around

It’s been a rough 20 games for the Arizona Diamondbacks. Little pitching and even less hitting. Currently having lost 5 consecutive series, the Diamondbacks are looking for answers early. Right now sitting at 7-12, a tough lost recently to the Colorado Rockies, where we held the lead and brought Randall Delgado in to seal the game but with Nolan Arenado and DJ Lamahieu on base, Trevor Story steps up for the Rockies and blasts a walk off homerun to straightaway centerfield for the win.

It was an exhausting loss to say the least.

Batting AVG - .254….18th
Runs – 63…..24th
HR – 22…..8th
ERA – 3.44……10th

-Robbie Ray has been awful with an ERA of exactly 7
-Shelby Miller not too far behind with an ERA of 5.87 and record on 1-2
-Arizona might reconsider Randall Delgado at closer. Delgado has 3 saves and a 9.00 ERA in 4 innings pitched and 1 blown save

-AJ Pollock has been our best hitter. He’s batting .310, with 4 homeruns and 11 RBIs…plus batting .417 with RISP
-Paul Goldschmidt is batting .324 with 7 RBIs but only has 1 homerun

Down the Pipeline
SP Alexis Ortiz (AAA), 1-1, 3.63 ERA, 17.1 IP, 23K, 11BB

Re: Title Town In The Desert: A 3-Sport Dynasty, PS4

The NFL Draft is just days away and the Arizona Cardinals are on the clock. The Cardinals will have the ninth pick overall in this draft and a huge answer to be answered will be the quarterback position.

Unsure of what quarterback will fall into their lap at number 9, they have very slim pickings. This is not going to be a deep quarterback draft.

One option they have is Roman Levy, a pocket passer out of UCLA. He's projected to go in the middle of the first round and his combine numbers weren't that impressive.

Carey DiMento is an agile quarterback out of Georgia. DiMento has a very good arm for a mobile quarterback and is excellent throwing on the run. He's projected to be a top 10 pick.

Lastly, Chance Winkler is the very best quarterback in this class but will most likely get drafted at the very top of the draft. Winkler also played out west at USC. If you thought DiMento had a good arm, Winkler’s arm brings up comparisons to Dan Marino’s arm.

The Cardinals will definitely get a chance to draft one of these three, it’s less likely they have a chance at Winkler.

Even though the Phoenix Suns are not in the playoffs they are still in the news. Having fired Jay Triano, their search for a new head coach continues. The Suns will also have to sign a new assistant coach as well but that probably won't happen until they find their head coach first.

Rumors are the Suns have been in contact with Jason Kidd. They would love to have him back in Phoenix as a coach of course.

David Fizdale is another rumored name the Suns are in contact with.

The lottery draft is a couple of weeks away, and the draft about 2 months away. You would figure by then they should have their coach of choice signed.

In the midst of the playoffs, let's take a look at the current state of the NBA playoff bracket.

AND THE 2018 NFL DRAFT IS HERE!!!

With the ninth pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, the Arizona Cardinals have selected quarterback Carey Dimento out of the University of Georgia.

The pick was very simple for the Cardinals. Draft a quarterback that can play ASAP. And they felt that Dimento and his six foot frame with a cannon for an arm can be a franchise quarterback. On top of that, Dimento possesses footwork like we haven’t seen in a while. His speed, acceleration and agility looks like something we haven’t seen in a while.

It’s odd to see a quarterback be both mobile and have a great arm. The Cardinals cannot wait to get this guy on the field and see it for themselves.

As for the rest of the draft……..

2nd round pick
TE Hayden Lake, Georgia – 6’5” 265 lbs – Vertical Threat
Lake showed great speed at the combine. He was first among tight ends in the 40-yard dash and vertical jump. He has great hands. The Cardinals definitely got good value here. They were looking to trade away the pick but didn’t find the deal they were looking for. Might have been the best move not made.

4th round pick
WR Dajuan Darby, S. Illinois – 5’10” 184 lbs - Speed

5th round pick
C JJ Herron, Virginia – 6’1” 303 lbs – Zone Blocking
An excellent pick here for the Cardinals. They needed a center and they might have gotten a great one. Herron was ranked #51 overall and the Cardinals drafted him at 137. You wonder why the big drop-off. Well, teams didn’t like that he lacked agility but in all fairness, he is a big guy.

Other than that, Herron is above average in run and pass blocking. He could very well start, although having a rookie under center can be difficult.

6th round pick
DT Latwan Meredith, Florida – 6’4” 295 lbs – Pass Rusher

7th round pick
WR Gordon Tongue, Buffalo – 5’9” 182 lbs – Speed

Overall, the Cardinals had a decent draft. They addressed a couple of positions they needed to upgrade although we’ll see throughout the season if the draft picks are considered an upgrade.

In the next month, we’ll be tracking position battles, training camp and preseason as it approaches.

But first, let’s take a look at this drafts superstar/quick developed drafted players.
