UFC - The Endeavor Era (WMMA5)

Quote:
What started as an idea in 1993 to put on the best fights with the best fighters in the world has changed the face of sports. I heard the word ‘no’ over and over and we faced a ton of challenges, but UFC bounced back each time, bigger and better, to build legends and superstars, while creating some of the most memorable events in the history of sports. The first 25 years have been amazing and we’re just getting started. - UFC President Dana White

Using World of Mixed Martial Arts 5, I plan on taking UFC further into the future. Though we are the biggest promotion in all the land, we do face some challenges. Probably the biggest challenge is how BLOATED the roster is. 587 fighters are under contract. Kind of overwhelming as a matchmaker.

The database I'm using starts after the conclusion of UFC 223.

Re: UFC - The Endeavor Era (WMMA5)

UFC News

Considering that UFC Tonight is not modeled in this game...nor do I care about having a UFC Europe team...nor the fact that I don't have to worry about Joe working too much and cutting into his recreational drug use time or his vacuum chamber time, I feel I have way too many staff members on the payroll. So, good luck in your future endeavors Kenny Florian, Dan Hardy, Brian Stann, Mick Maynard, John Gooden, and Todd Grisham. The broadcast team moving forward will be Joe Rogan, Jimmy Smith, and Jon Anik.

Greg Hardy signed with Bellator.....eh.

Despite having nearly 600 fighters under contract, I feel I need more. Our goal is to try and build up the women's featherweight division and add some more depth. And that's what we did. A nice mix of young fighters and fighters getting another chance in UFC.

33-year-old Iony Razafiarison - Featherweight - (3-1-1)
French fighter is riding a two-fight winning streak with victories over Diana Belbita at Superior FC 18 and a victory over Sinead Kavanagh at Bellator 173. Signed to a 3 fight contract.

28-year-old Revelina "Nana" Berto - Featherweight - (3-1)
Nana hasn't fought since being eliminated from TUF Season 18 back in 2013. However, the sister of fighter Edson Berto and boxer Andre Berto is still a bright prospect in her own right. Signed to a 3 fight contract.

31-year-old Zarah Fairn dos Santos - Featherweight - (6-2)
Last fought for Ladies Fight Night in Dec. 2017 with a 1st Round TKO of Izabela Badurek. A kickboxer who is ranked #14 in the world in the women's featherweight division. Signed to a 3 fight contract.

28-year-old Elizabeth Phillips - Bantamweight - (7-6)
Fought four fights in the UFC between 2014-16, going 1-3. Last fought in November for King of the Cage, defeating Nikohl Johnson via unanimous decision. Signed to a 3 fight contract.

34-year-old Sarah Kaufman - Bantamweight - 17-4-1
Sarah was the face of the Bantamweight division in Strikeforce for years before the arrival of Ronda Rousey. She fought for UFC four times, going 1-2-1. She recently fought for Invicta, but the prospect of coming back to UFC was something she couldn't ignore. Currently ranked #14 in the pound for pound rankings and ranked the #5 bantamweight in the world. Signed to a 4 fight contract, with 2 fights guaranteed.

29-year-old Kana Watanabe - Flyweight - (2-0)
A talented judoka, Kana has won the All Japan Junior Championships and placed in the All Japan Championship. Last fought for Rizin back in December. Signed to a 3 fight contract.

35-year-old "Blood Red" Kelly Kobold - Bantamweight - (19-3-2)
Was one of the rising stars in the pioneer days of women's MMA before taking a hiatus to chase a career in the Lingerie Football League before finally coming back after Legacy Fighting Alliance offered her a fight. Is scheduled to fight for LFA against Christine "Knuckles" Stanley before coming to UFC. Signed to a 3 fight contract.

30-year-old Corinne Laframboise - Flyweight - (2-1)
Last fought for TKO Major League MMA, the Canadien is set to make her UFC debut soon. We want people who we can market here! Signed to a 3 fight contract.

Might as well add Juan 'The Kraken' Adams to the roster. Dude will have a contract pretty soon.

Surprisingly, he's not in this database, which is interesting because he fought for LFA back in November and they are in this database.

Re: UFC - The Endeavor Era (WMMA5)

Thoughts on UFC 224 co-main event

Obviously, some people feel that Conor should be the main event, but frankly, after the stunt that was pulled at 223, he should feel blessed he's on the card. We're moving on from that event, he's expressed remorse that other people got caught in the middle of this rivalry with Khabib. We're moving on.

I'm excited about the co-main. Thug Rose wanted to get back in the Octagon immediately and she wants to avenge her UFC 201 loss to Karolina. So we have that storyline. Joanna lost her rematch. Claudia lost her last fight. Karolina has won her last two fights. So she gets the next shot at the title.

As for Conor against Showtime Pettis, we want to get Conor back in the Octagon. He's not fought since 2016. He had his fun with Mayweather. Obviously, everyone wants to see Conor and Khabib, but in my opinion, Conor needs to get back in our good graces. People will look at this fight as a potential warmup for Conor to get ready for Khabib, but on the other hand, Pettis can use this fight to springboard a UFC career that has been inconsistent at times. They have similar styles, so it should be a good fight.
