Spurs Champions League Group Announced

A good draw for last years Champions League runner-ups, Spurs are the clear favorites to advance. Valencia and Porto are the best odds for second and third place with Rangers having a slim chance to finish outside fourth.

The first group match will take place following the international break during the first week of September.

Re: Career of John Dennis | PES19

Spurs finally land a second striker!

The second striker Spurs have been trying to land since Harry Kane came onto the scene has finally been found. Inter stiker Lautaro Martinez agreed to a three year deal with the London side. Martinez scored 6 goals with 3 assists in 27 appearances (13 starts) for Inter last season, ending the summer with a strong Copa America performance (2 goals in 4 starts).

John Dennis plans to use Martinez as Kane's backup but will also experiment with a two striker formation in a 4-4-1-1 with a diamond midfield.

Martinez will be on the bench for Saturday's match against Leicester City.

Leicester City 0-0 Tottenham
Lloris, Schmeichel put on a show in scoreless draw

Leicester City Counting the final preseason match, Spurs have gone three straight without victory. The result against Leicester City is the hardest to accept to Tottenham, who were clearly the better side all match. Tottenham created chance after chance only to see Kasper Schmeichel make one diving save after another.

The best chance in the match fell to Dele Alli in the center of the box with an open net and Schmeichel on the ground. Dele's shot was to the right corner where Morgan headed it away.

"This is a tough result for us. We were the better side, I thought but they have a great keeper and playing tight defense is what won them the title a few years back so hats off to them." Dennis said after the match.

Tottenham 3-1 Valencia
John Dennis' first home match of the year ends with convincing victory.

London Due to a strange schedule to start the season, Spurs first home match of the season is also their first Champions League match. Spurs got off to a quick start behind the home crowd with Harry Kane scoring a brace and Harry Winks adding a goal in the first 35 minutes.

The first of Kane's two was setup by Winks who crossed into the box from the right side. Kane outjumped the defender with a powerful header. Minutes later Winks added his own goal when Dele Alli's shot was blocked and fell to Winks in the center of the box. Winks took a dribble to his right before slotting it in the corner.

Kane added his second goal at the 35 minute mark, receiving the ball by midfield and dribbling into the box before cutting towards the middle and firing a low shot into the opposite corner.

Spurs were 3 goals up with 68% of the possession by the time the first half ended. The second half was about Spurs holding the lead and avoiding injury with an Everton match only days away.

Valencia striker Rodrigo added his sides only goal with 10 minutes left to play.

Just need to have the league results turn around, it's early but too many dropped points early will hurt us later.

Tottenham 1-1 Everton
Tottenham draw third straight Premier League match to open the season.

London There was hope among Spurs supporters that the Champions League win was a sign of things to come but instead Spurs fell back to their previous form with another league draw. Three draws in three matches for Dennis in his first Premier League season.

Tosun scored against the run of play for Everton in the 41' to shock Tottenham supporters who were enjoying themselves for the first half of the match when it looked like Spurs would surely score first.

Tottenham kept the pressure and eventually Son found a way through at the 75' mark to make it 1-1. Jordan Pickford denied Lucas Moura and Harry Kane in the final minutes to earn Everton the point.
