          HISTORY AND RIVALRIES

          Updated: October 28,2019

          1. Paddy Holohan VS Chico Camus

At UFC 1, Irishman Paddy Holohan submitted Chico Camus in under 2 minutes to win the Flyweight Championship. Camus didn't take the loss well and took shots at the Champ afterwards. The rematch was set for UFC 2: Holohan vs Camus 2 where after a back and fourth fight between the two, Holohan submitted Camus in the 4th Round with a Triangle Choke. The two shook hands apparently putting this feud to the side for now.

                      Guest: Flyweight Champion Paddy Holohan

Holohan Discusses his feud with Chico Camus.

Joe: "Good morning ladies and gentlemen and fight fans everywhere! Welcome to Episode #1 of the Joe Rogan Experience with me Joe Rogan! Today's guest is none other than defending Flyweight Champion Patrick "Paddy" Holohan. Say hello champ."

                      Paddy: "Thanks for having me."

Joe: "Pleasure is all mine. Now let's get down to it Paddy, I wanted you here for my show because for the past week you've been involved in a pretty heated feud with the same man you defeated at UFC 1 to win the belt, Chico Camus."

Paddy: "(Laughing) Yeah that's correct. He couldn't keep his mouth shut after our fight."

Joe: "No he couldn't. Ever since you defeated him he's been blowing you up on Social Media and UFC President Dana White has scheduled the rematch for the two of you to headline UFC 2 in just under a month."

Paddy: "Well what do you expect Joe? I had him tapping out in under 2 minutes and he's crying all over Social Media. I'm the champ. He can come at me again and try to get under my skin all he wants but the fact remains he started this, not me. I'm Irish, we back down from no one Joe. He want's another shot at my title then he can come try."

Joe: "I respect the honesty champ, now let me ask you this Paddy, knowing who you're fighting now and the second time around do you prepare any differently?"

Paddy: "Absolutely not. The fact I already know my opponent makes it easier. But on the other side of the coin is he knows me too."

Joe: "That's a good point champ. It's a huge thing for this upcoming promotion knowing that the two of you were apart of history when you were both drawn to fight on the first ever UFC 1. You of course walked away with the Flyweight Championship."

Paddy: "Yes very true. Indeed I was lucky to have my name drawn for the card. But now moving forward as the champ i'm focused on the Flyweight Division and Chico Camus. Plenty of guys will step up and take this belt from me but I have to be prepared and not let them."

Joe: "Another good point Champ, so as a fighter let me ask you. Do you watch any of the other fights on the card? Which fight interests you the most on the UFC 2 card besides yours?"

Paddy: "Honestly i'm looking forward to the Augusto Montano' defense. He's a great fighter with vicious head kicks. That fight should be great."

Joe: "I'm a fan of the kid myself Now if I may ask Paddy I know you're focused on your feud with Chico Camus for UFC 2 but do you see this feud ending after your fight?"

Paddy: "I'll leave it up to him. I had no problem with him after the fight until he had to open his mouth. Now i'll shut it for him."

Joe: "Thanks for your time Paddy good luck!"

                      Paddy: "Thanks for having me."

UFC 2: HOLOHAN VS CAMUS 2

                          DECEMBER 11,1993

                          RESULTS

                          Lightweight Bout
                          Eddie Alvarez vs James Vick

Great fight that lasted full 3 rounds with both fighters showing wrestling skills. In the end it was Alvarez taking the Unanimous Decision to go 1-0 in his UFC Career. Vick shook his hand and left.

                          Women's Bantamweight
                          Valentina Shevchenko vs Liz Carmouche

The Ukranian Bulletproof cyborg made quick work of Carmouche and dropped her with a vicious right hook at 2:22 of Round 1 that left Liz motionless on the mat ice cold.

                          Middleweight Bout
                          Nick Diaz vs Tim Kennedy

Kennedy was no match for Diaz's Brazillian Jujitsu skills and submitted to a triangle choke just 2:02 in the first round.

                          Light Heavyweight Bout
                          Rashad Evans vs Patrick Cummins

Both brawlers demonstrated lethal combos and takedowns but at 1:06 in Round 2, Evans made Cummins his bitch with ground and pound. Afterwards the two shook hands.

                          Bantamweight Bout
                          Urijah Faber vs Bryan Caraway

Faber demonstrated almost freakish cardio never tiring once while making Caraway tap out to a Guilotine at 3:44 of the 1st RD. Afterwards he had some words for Bantamweight Champ Takeya Mizugaki stating he will be champ soon.

                          Strawweight Bout
Felice Herrig vs Hannah Jo Clark

This was a massacre from the start. Hannah came out swinging while Herrig showed her kick boxing skills and after getting Clark in her muay tai clinch dropped her with a vicious knee to the body that broke her ribs and got the TKO. 4:15 RD 1.

Afterwards Herrig showed no remorse and even mocked Hannah who had to be carried to the back.

                          Heavyweight Bout
                          Mark Hunt vs Ben Rothwell

The Samoan Hunt made quick work of Rothwell after dropping him with a left hook at just 2:35 into the first round. Hunt of course, walked away like a boss.

                          Women's Bantamweight
                          Ronda Rousey vs Elizabeth Phillips

In what looked like it would go to the judges cards, Rousey got Phillips to tap to her trademark armbar at 3:00 into the final round. Rousey showed judo takedowns while Phillips had great defense on the ground.

                          Welterweight Championship
                          Augusto Montano'(c) vs Matt Brown

Despite a grueling 5 round battle that saw both fighters exhausted and bloodied, Montano' took the Unanimous Decision to retain his belt. Both fighters had a great ovation from the crowd and even shared a hug.

                          Heavyweight Bout
                          Paul Murphy vs Matt Mitrione

The British Paul Murphy had a good debut dropping Mitrione at 2:16 in RD 2 with vicious punches for a TKO.

                          Flyweight Championship
                          Paddy Holohan(c) vs Chico Camus

The most heated rivalry entering the show tonight went almost the full distance. Both fighters had takedowns but none could secure any submissions due to some great defense from both. With less than 90 seconds in the 4th RD however Holohan caught Camus in a Triangle Choke to retain his title. Afterwards the bloodied Irishman shook Camus hand to seal the feud.

                          For now.
