Re: Unified Boxing Federation (Glory Days Boxing)

Nice seeing the other weight classes added, and the QP chart Idea is absolutely in line with how I intended it to be used with the 3 judge option. As always, enjoy the write ups!

WW- Barney Ross defeats Young Corbett III by KO at 0:41 of Round 8

WW- Floyd Mayweather Jr defeats Pete Latzo by Unanimous Decision

Latzo put up a good fight, despite having blood run down his face all evening after a gash was opened above his right eye in the 2nd round. However, Mayweather was just too much for him as Floyd Jr took the fight on all three scorecards.

Re: Unified Boxing Federation (Glory Days Boxing)

FEBRUARY 2003 UBF FRIDAY NIGHT FIGHTS
Results

LW- John Molina defeats Aladin Stevens by Unanimous Decision
Judges: 97-92, 97-91, 95-94
This was a bizarre fight to say the least. Molina had so much blood flowing from his nose by the end of the 5th round that he spent much of the rest of the fight spitting blood that trickled into his mouth. He also had a cut open above his left eye in the 6th round and Stevens had a cut above his left eye open in the first round and worsen in the last.

Molina knocked Stevens to the canvas in the 5th round (and again in the 7th, incidentally) but referee Randy Neumann's count was delayed for several seconds as Molina stood over his fallen opponent. Analysts have concluded that by the time that Stevens got back to his feet the count would have been at 12. Neumann counted to 9. In the end, Molina won unanimously despite a slim 76-75 advantage in punches landed.

Note: This was from the Rare Event Chart. Neumann was not actually the referee but I chose him at random for the story.

LW- Al Singer defeats Ruben Navarro by TKO at 0:56 of Round 4.
Singer came out swinging in the 4th round and did not stop until the fight was stopped. Singer wins his UBF debut and will fight again on Tuesday Night Fights in March.

WW- Armando Muniz defeats Billy Collins by Unanimous Decision
Judges: 97-90, 96-91, 95-93
The difference in this fight was the 3 times that Muniz knocked Collins down. Collins went down in the 6th round and twice more in the 8th but managed to finish the fight. The punches landed, which favored Muniz 99-91, were an indicator of how closely this bout was contested if not for the knockdowns.

WW- Marcos Maidana defeats Maurice Blocker by TKO at 0:13 of Round 10.
Maidana was being badly beaten by Blocker when he opened a gash above Blocker's left eye stopping the fight. Blocker had dominated the bout, landing 111 punches to Maidana's 52. Both fighter's were knocked down once but Blocker failed to finish Maidana and left the door open for disaster.

Note: Blocker was 4-5 points ahead on all 3 cards through 9 rounds.

WW- Milton McCrory defeated Ben Tackie by Unanimous Decision
Judges: 97-92, 97-93, 97-92
McCrory controlled this fight right from the opening bell and showed little vulnerability throughout. He would land 115 punches on Friday night while Tackie managed to land just 77. The only knockdown of the bout came in Round 5 when McCrory took his opponent down.

LW- TITLE FIGHT: Ike Williams defeats Manny Paquiao by Unanimous Decision
Judges: Larry Doggett 115-111, Lou Filippo 116-111, Louis Moret 114-112
Referee: Joe Cortez
Ike Williams became the new UBF Lightweight Champion of the World on Friday night by winning unanimously over now-former champion Manny Paquiao. The fight was the first title fight in UBF history to not be contested on a Saturday.

Paquiao struggled to match blows with Williams in the first 8 rounds (Williams landed 140 punches in the fight to Manny's 111) but did score a 3rd round knockdown of the challenger. Paquiao was much stronger down the stretch and may have retained the belt but his bid was derailed when he was knocked down by Williams in the 11th round.

FEBRUARY 2003 SATURDAY NIGHT FIGHTS
Results

MW- Ray Robinson defeats Frank Fletcher by Unanimous Decision
Judges: 99-90, 97-92, 100-89
Robinson took Fletcher to task on Saturday night right from the opening bell. Fletcher suffered a first round knockdown but was able to go the distance despite Robinson holding a huge 120-41 advantage in punches landed.

MW- Carlos Monzon defeats Ronnie Harris by Unanimous Decision
Judges: 99-90, 98-92, 100-89
Monzon picked up where Sugar Ray left off and continued the beating in the night's second fight. Harris was knocked down in Round 6 and Monzon landed 144 punches to just 33 for Harris.

MW- Holman Williams defeats Gene Fullmer by KO at 0:34 of Round 6
Gene Fullmer had an advantage of 20 punches landed through 5 rounds and seemed to be in complete control of Williams but Holman caught Fullmer clean with a right hook to the jaw early in the 6th round and it was lights out.

HW- Buster Douglas and Tommy Burns fight to a Split Draw
Judges: 93-96, 94-94, 96-93
James "Buster" Douglas suffered a pair of knockdowns on Saturday night - one in Round 5 and another in Round 7. However, feeding Burns a steady diet of punches was enough for Buster to claw his way back to a draw. On the night, Douglas landed 110 punches while Burns landed 83.

HW- Muhammad Ali defeats Bob Fitzsimmons by Majority Decision
Judges: 96-96, 96-93, 98-93
Ali scored a 10th round knockdown of Fitzsimmons but that likely only turned a split decision into a majority decision. The real story was in the punch stats. Per CompuBox, Ali landed 140 punches to Fitzsimmons' 78.

HW- Gene Tunney defeats Max Schmeling by Split Decision
Judges: 94-96, 96-93, 97-95
Tunney was knocked down in the opening round but fought his was back to a split decision victory over Schmeling. In the process, The Fighting Marine stopped Schmeling's 11-match win streak and improved to 10-0-1 (5). Max Schmeling falls to 11-2-0 (7).
