It shocked me a little when Spinks lost that fight. I wasn't prepared for a Tomato Can to win in the FIRST fight against one of them! I guess that is the risk of scheduling a 6 round bout. There is less time to separate the good from the bad and one knockdown is difficult to overcome.

I'm glad you are enjoying the updates, my friend. It's funny, when I'm playing the fights or when I'm rolling dice to schedule a card I often think "Money99 is going to hate this result" or "Money99 will love this match up."

Thanks again for following along and sharing input. I greatly appreciate it!

June 2001 UBF Saturday Night Fights
Results

Wladimir Klitschko defeats Max Baer by TKO at 2:29 of Round 10
Klitschko opened a gash above Baer's right eye in the 5th round and when it worsened late in the fight the referee called a stop to the proceedings. It was really a formality though, in terms of results, as Klitschko was clearly ahead in this one.

Jameel McCline defeats Arthur Pelkey by KO at 0:43 of Round 5
McCline gets his first win in the UBF after finishing Pelkey in the 5th. Pelkey was also knocked down in round number 2.

George Godfrey defeats Chris Byrd by Unanimous Decision
Judges: 96-93, 97-93, 95-93
Byrd was knocked down in the 4th round and hurt his wrist later in the round as well. This fight was closer than the score cards indicated as the total punches landed only favored Godfrey by a 78-76 margin.

George Foreman defeats Anthony Johnson by KO at 0:18 of Round 7
Having knocked Johnson down in the first round, Foreman finished him in the 7th. For Big George it was sweet vindication after suffering consecutive shocking defeats.

Muhammad Ali defeats Bob Fitzsimmons by TKO in Round 7
In an extremely well fought, close fight, Ali won by TKO when the fight was stopped in the 7th round after a gash above Fitzsimmons' left eye, originally opened in the 2nd round, became unsafe. The win marks the first KO for Ali (4-0-1).

Note: Through 6 rounds, the judges had this fight 58-58, 57-57 and 58-58.
