Re: WWE Square One (A WWE 2k20 Story)

Saginaw, Michigan - June, Year 1

Welcome to the a night of consequences and retribution. Karma states that for every good or bad action, the universe will return you in kind. Warriors say, "An Eye for an Eye".

Tonight we see a young champion look to show that his streak of losses will come to an end. A woman seeks to return the pain to "The Man". The grizzeled veteran attempts to take back what was stolen from him. A Monster seeks to even the score and put the head of the table through one himself. This is.... Backlash!

United States Championship Match: Ricochet vs. Buddy Murphy (c)

Murphy rushed the ring, clearly frustrated from his past few weeks. The two have a battle all around the ring. Ricochet and Murphy are some of the most athletic talents in the division. The match turned when Ricochet went for the 630 Senton and once again Murphy was ready with the knees. Murphy learned from his mistakes though and this time rolls up Ricochet for the pin using the ropes for leverage. Ref doesn't see it and the champion retains.
Winner and STILL United States Champion: Buddy Murphy

WWE Tag Team Championship Match: Cesaro & Shinsuke vs. The New Day (c)

Cesaro and Nakamura earned this match with an impressive showing against the champions last Monday. The match itself was a well wrestled one with each team gaining momentum and breaking up falls. The New Day's experience though would begin to take over as they isolated Cesaro. They set up and deliver the UpUpDownDown and as Kofi jumps he is caught in the air for an RKO! Randy Orton appears out of nowhere, Woods is stunned. Before Woods can react, he is spun around and hit with End of Days. Corbin and Orton just took out the champions. Were they behind the attack 2 weeks ago??
Winners by Disqualificaition and STILL WWE Tag Team Champions: The New Day

Match 3: Ember Moon vs. Becky Lynch

Becky Lynch snapped last week and tried to break the arm off Ember Moon. Her frustrations clearly building after being abused by other women in the division. "The Man" and Ember Moon put on a clinic here, each getting near falls. Becky locks in the Dis-Arm-Her late and Moon makes it to the rope. Ref begins a count to 5 and this time Lynch breaks on 4. The ref goes to check on Moon and Becky drags her from the ropes and locks the Dis-Arm-Her in again, Moon has no choice but to tap.
Winner by Submission: Becky Lynch

Intercontinental Championship Match: The Miz vs. Rey Mysterio (c)

Sometimes the easiest way to get yourself a title match, steal the champion's belt. The Miz and Maryse certainly used that to their advantage to leverage this match out of Rey. The Miz came to the ring holding the belt as if it was already his. This brought out Mysterio's ire and laid a beating on Miz. The Miz generated some offense but it was short lived as he landed on the middle ropes in perfect dial up territory. Rey began to run to the ropes but as he got closer Maryse held up the championship and began to slowly back towards the ramp. Rey began to yell for her to bring it back which was all the time the Miz needed. He delivered a Skull Crushing Finale from behind for the win.
Winner and NEW Intercontinental Champion: The Miz

Match 5: Seth Rollins vs. Mr. Money in the Bank AJ Styles vs. Drew McIntyre

This match featured 3 men in the top division who have had some impressive wins this month. Drew over AJ, Seth over Orton, and Styles over Seth. The offensive style of Rollins and Styles meshed with the pure physical assault of McIntyre made for some exciting moments. The powerbomb-superplex delivered by McIntyre, with Styles catching the the worst of it and rolling out of the ring, opened up the cascade of events that would end the match. McIntyre hit a clamore on Rollins as he got to his feet and as he got up Styles returned to the match with a Phenomenal Forearm to McIntyre. He quickly scrambled to Rollins and picked up the win.
Winner: Mr. Money in the Bank AJ Styles

Main Event WWE Championship Table Match: Braun Strowman vs. Roman Reigns (c)

A month of slamming each other through tables comes to fruition as the two meet in a tables match for the WWE Championship. Braun and Reigns have a slug fest early, each not bothering to grab a table. After Reigns delivers a spear he decides it's over and brings one to the ring to set up in the corner. As he is setting it up Strowman gets to his feet and picks Reigns up for a powerbomb, he throws him over the ropes and Reigns lands on Jey as he barely has time to push a second table out of the way to save his cousin. Strowman takes exception to this and puts Jey through the table himself with a running powerslam. Back in the ring, Strowman hoists Reigns up and runs towards the table in the corner, Reigns slides off and pushes the big man to the corner. Strowman stops just in time and turns around only to be speared straight through the table.
Winner and STILL WWE Champion: Roman Reigns
