Re: Nashville SC Career Mode | FIFA 21
January 2020 Recap
The first match in club history came against the Montreal Impact, which resulted in a 1-1 tie. Three days later, we played Querétaro F.C. and that match also resulted in a 1-1 tie.
Then, we really hit our stride. We won our next two games against FC Cincinnati and Real Salt Lake as both games had a final score of 1-0.
We then faced the Vancouver Whitecaps in the Champions Cup final. A late 78th minute goal from Abu Danladi tied the score up a 1-1. That's how regulation would end as penalty kicks would ultimately decide the match. Thanks to an incredible diving save by GK Joe Willis, we managed to win 4-3 on penalty kicks.
This was HUGE for our expansion club. We went undefeated in our first tournament and gained $1,500,000 in the process.
January Transfer Window
There were a couple positions on the team where I didn't feel too great about our starters or depth. So, we had quite a busy month on the transfer front thanks to our $14,000,000+ in transfer funds.
The first move we made came on January 10th when we traded LB Jimmy Medranda (69 ovr) and $250,000 to the Seattle Sounders for LM Handwalla Bwana (63 ovr).
Two days after we made our first big signing. We signed 17 year old Belgian wonderkid, CM Aster Vranckx (66 ovr). We agreed to buy him from K.V. Mechelen for $2,900,000. We then agreed to a 5 year contract with him that will pay him $1,000 weekly, a $20,000 signing bonus, with no release clause. Vranckx will replace CDM Anibal Godoy in the starting unit.
We then made a slew of moves within two days of the transfer deadline, January 31st.
On January 30th, we agreed to buy two players.
The first player we bought was 18 year old Croatian CB, Joško Gvardiol (69 ovr). We agreed to pay Dinamo Zagreb $3,750,000 for his services. We then signed him to a 5 year deal that will pay him $3,000 as his weekly wage, $25,000 in a signing bonus, with no release clause. Gvardiol will immediately slot in as a starting Center Back.
Later that day we bought 18 year old Danish RM, Mohamed Daramy (67 ovr). We agreed to pay FC Kobenhavn $3,400,000. We then signed him to a 5 year deal that will pay him a $3,000 weekly wage, $30,000 signing bonus, with no release clause. Daramy will start at RM for us while Alex Muyl will be our starting LM, with David Accam coming in as a substitute.
January 31st, the transfer deadline, was another busy day for us.
We acquired one more player as we traded CDM Anibal Godoy (71 ovr) and $2,600,000 to Hamburger SV for 19 year old German RB, Josha Vagnoman (69 ovr). We then signed Vagnoman to a 5 year deal that will pay him a $2,500 weekly wage, $23,500 signing bonus, and $25,000 after he makes 10 appearances. No release clause was included in his contract. Vagnoman will actually play Left Back for us and will start immediately.
Later we sold ST Dominique Badji (66 ovr) to Wista Ptock for $1,100,000, while Estudiantes bought out CB Dave Romney's (66 ovr) $1,700,000 release clause. However, both of these deals fell through as neither Badji nor Romney could reach deals with the new teams.
This influx of youth should give us a solid foundation to build upon for years to come. These 5 players are all under 22 years old. And the most recent acquisition before them, ST Jhonder Cádiz is only 24 years old. So, there's definitely some amazing, young players on this roster that we can develop over the next few years.
Now that our roster moves were completed, it was time to really train and prepare for our inaugural match against Atlanta United FC.
