Tottenham FC | FIFA21

After not playing FIFA 21 for a while, I decided to start a career rebuilding Tottenham. I do not expect to win a lot right away because of how difficult I am going to try making this so hopefully, it is a realistic rebuild. I moved a lot of players that I planned on selling before the career mode started, I did not want to sell 8 players and end up with 200 million as a transfer budget, that would be too easy. Instead, I moved the players then started the career mode so my budget is around 70 million pounds to start.

A quick list of players who I moved to before the season started.
Gareth Bale went back to Real Madrid
Harry Winks went to Valencia as some January rumors suggested
Moussa Sissoko went to Lyon to finish his career
Ben Davies went back to Swansea City
Matt Doherty went to Crystal Palace
Serge Aurier went back to PSG as recently rumored
Davison Sanchez went to Aston Villa
Eric Dier went to Burnley, seems like a Dyche player.
Vinicus ended his loan and went back to Benfica
Danny Rose went to his hometown Sheffield Utd
Joe Hart was released
Lucas Moura went to Granada, not sure why just felt like it fit.

Moves to make the Premier League more exciting
Messi went to Man City and Aguero then went to PSG
Di Maria left PSG for Everton
Man United signed Jadon Sancho
Chelsea signed Haaland
Sheffield United, West Brom, and Newcastle were relegated
Norwich City, Swansea City, and Brentford were promoted.
And to add excitement for future years or cup draws, Celtic and Rangers were put into the Championship.

Playing 10 min halves on Ultimate so I expect to struggle.

Spurs announce Eddie Howe as new manager

London - Eddie Howe has been announced as the next manager for Tottenham, taking over at Jose Mourhino left in the summer. Howe has agreed to a three-year deal with the club. Many speculated a bigger name to be signed but after the new plan for Spurs future was announced, those big names took their name out of the hat not wanting anything to do with a long-term rebuild. Earlier this week Daniel Levy announced the plan to rely heavily on the youth with one to two signings per window but staying within the Tottenham budget.

Spurs are in the market for a starting right back and another center-back this summer but those are the only two signings being mentioned at this time.

Howe, 43, is taking over after having a year off following the relegation of Bournemouth. Howe is a questionable hire for Spurs with his track record being only at a club the size of Bournemouth and his defensive tactics being questioned often. As a manager, Howe has a career record of 228-114-203 winning Premier League manager of the month 3 times and winning the Football league manager of the decade award for 2005-2015.

The right-back and center-back positions are the obvious needs immediately for Spurs and the first two positions Eddie Howe will look to address. Currently, Tottenham have three right-back's in the squad with only one who has ever made a senior appearance, Japhet Tanganga. The other two are in the academy still 19-year-old Jubril Okendina and 19-year-old Marcel Lavinier.

Spurs have made Tariq Lamptey their top target for the position. Lamptey took the league by surprise with Brighton last season and has been on the radar of the top clubs since. Spurs are looking to add Lamptey for his pace and attacking ability, the opposite of what Tanganga brings to the position.

Another option for Spurs is 21-year-old RB Leipzig RB/CB Ibrahima Konate'. The 6'4 defender can play RB and CB which is a big plus for a Tottenham side looking to save money. Spurs are currently scouting the defender to find a starting price to negotiate.

For the middle of defense Ezri Konsa, Lloyd Kelly, and Jamaal Lascelles are all rumored options for Tottenham. The asking price will be a big factor in determining which defender Spurs go for this window.

A counter-attacking goal by Son right before the half changed the game. Arsenal was controlling the game until that point but became more defensive when the score was 1-1. Spurs had most of the possession the final 15 minutes and survived a scare with Aubameyang scored but were ruled offside. In the 89th minute Son sent in a high cross to Kane at the far post who beat Luiz in the air firing back across goal to score.

By far the easiest match of the month. Swansea did not even try to attack for most of the game. Hojbjerg took advantage of a bad pass in midfield to break away and score. Kane added the second goal after a deflected shot fell kindly for him in the box. The rest of the match was Spurs passing the ball around taking the easy win.

An absolute disaster for Spurs from start to finish. The high pressing of Sterling and Vardy forced Spurs into a lot of giveaways. The quick passing and movement of Silva and Messi left the Spurs defenders standing still way too often. Man City could have done anything they wanted and Tottenham could not have stopped them.

A game that was closer than the score shows. Tottenham fought back from being behind and became more aggressive in the second half. At half time Spurs had 34% possession but ended the match with 42% and had 2 really good chances to make it 3-3. Son missed a sliding attempt just wide of the post and Allison came up with a diving save on Lo Celso's attempt minutes before Salah made it 4-2. Kane limped off at the hour mark with an injury but should only be out 5 days.

Arsenal will battle with Napoli for the winner in Group F but both should comfortably advance to the next round.

Liverpool finds themselves in the Europa League after a few years in Champions League. They pair up with Roma as the key match up in Group L.
