How was that a weak targeting call? It was textbook, as the rules official said. If he doesn’t lower his head, it’s all good.

Refs definitely gave Clemson a gift. Didn't deserve that. Targeting is the worst penalty. Ejecting the player is just too far.

I agree it was weak and the ejection is pretty harsh, but it was textbook targeting.

You can quibble with the rule, but I thought the targeting call was pretty textbook.

Targeting was the right call (based on how the rule is written), but I still think they need to revisit the automatic ejection. I hate that.

It's definitely textbook. But it penalizes a great hit. Targeting is just stupid in general. Only in extreme cases is it warranted.
