Even though you have a good record using army that will not help you get better recruits year 1. It will take a few years to win and improve your school prestige and pitch ratings. Also one of the biggest things compared to years past is you have to know when to quit recuiting a guy and which ones to go after. You arent going to come from behind on a 5* guy if you are like 1,500 points behind and the CPU is going hard after them. I only add guys that either im in the top 3 as and try to make them pipeline states. Also check for high ranked guys that are less then 25% and give them the full amount of points even if you are not in the top 10.

Yeah man... another thing to do about week 7, after you've weeded out who you won't get and who you will get it, search players who are less than 25% committed. The computer likely hasn't even targeted any of these guys and there are some good ones out there. Throw those on your list and start going after them.

Yeah try to focus on guys who you are gaining ground or extending your lead on from week to week. You can try to battle with maybe a couple of guys you are losing if you aren't losing too many points, and then try to either steal them on a visit or keep them open until the offseason, but keep these battles to a minimum. Don't forget to use that lock break skill either. That thing is powerful, especially if you get lucky and pair it with a good visit.

I always end up stealing a 4 star or 2 just because in week 7 or 8, after I got some guys committed, I went back and added a few guys to the board that were highly rated but 15-20% committed and started hounding them with 300-400 points a week. When you're looking for recruits, look at more info and then to top school, if they're only 15-20% and all the schools are within 400-500 points of each, you have a great chance of getting their attention just by adding them and giving them 300 points a week. When there is a small separation in points of the schools, in a lowly % committed recruit, it means no one is really recruiting them yet. There is never a better time to jump in and steal the recruit. I seriously get atleast 1 or 2 extra 4 stars a season because of this, and I don't even start recruiting them until week 7 or 8.

The best week to go back and search for 25% locked or less recruits is week 3.
that way you get on them early and you can tell then who is available.
Also the CPU does give a handful of players max points and the rest 0 and what they do with the rest is let it LOCk and then unlock them with their visit scheduled. Tricky.

I'm also trying out this system where i give 4 guys 700 "potential starters", 3 guys 600 "backup starters", 2 guys 500 "playing time", and the last 900 to whomever i have left also letting a few LOCK and jumping back in with a visit late.

I've had the num 1 class with FSU and OU and num 4 with Louisville.

Yeah, there are some super legit gems that go completely untouched by the CPU year in and out

How does a recruit sign with another school when I had a 2000 point lead on them? they went to visit LSU and i had 2100 point lead in previous week and they were locked out and they sign with LSU the next week... theres no way they could come back 2100 points in one week

What's kinda dumb about recruiting now is that its so tied in to what you're coach is rated. I struggled the first few years at Florida to get a good class because I have a lot less points than other coaches.

I know Muschamp is new as a head coach but when has Florida had to struggle to get a good recruit class?
