There was zero way the Blue Jays got a top 100 prospect or anyone worth any real value. Some daydreaming there.

More Donaldson drama:
-Report (likely leaked intentionally by Jays side) said Jays offered Donaldson some kind of 3 year 75M type deal in the offseason.

-Donaldsons agent claims that wasn't the case


I wonder who is telling the truth here? Part of me leans towards Jays side because after how he's played this year, you don't want a Bautista situation all over again where everyone knows he's looking for big money and nobody wants to offer anything for multiple years because of his age/injuries. Or Edwin situation where people find out you turned down a bigger deal than the one you had to settle for.

Jays management definitely don't seem to put up with agents. They put offer out there, if it's no good, it's your loss. Edwins agent learned the hard way, and I don't expect Donaldson to get 75M for 3 or even 4 years.

All the Donaldson blah blah in here and not a peep about the shadiness of the deal and how teams around the league are not happy at how it went down.

Yep, it was shady all around. I think rival execs are more upset at how the Indians manipulated the rules in their favor.

Tigers picked up Logan Shore from the Athletics to finish the Fiers trade. Tigers got better than expected returns on Fiers and Martin; it is too bad Liriano's value walked away and Iglesias got hurt right before the August deadline.

Early questions for the hotstove: how much money would Detroit have to eat to move Zimmerman, and what should Detroit do with Castellanos?
