People with both 360 and PS3...

Which system will you be playing NCAA and Madden on, is there any major differences in either versions? I don't know which one to get it for

Re: People with both 360 and PS3...

I'm getting it for the 360 because I want to utilize the on-line dynasty feature. I like XBL better...and in all honesty I can't even get my PS3 wireless thing to work.

Re: People with both 360 and PS3...

I was jut about to make this thread.

My 360 just died on me TODAY!!! :( I've already got NCAA paid for on 360, but with the money I get back from my extended 360 warranty, I can buy a PS3, and come out even. Which means I'll basically be getting a FREE Blu-Ray player.

BUT, my first choice lies with gaming, so should I go with NCAA on the PS3, or should I get another 360, and go with NCAA there? I've heard some people say 360's graphics are better, and things like that. But what's overall opinion?

Re: People with both 360 and PS3...

I think the controls will be better on PS3, since I've played the Show for months now and haven't touched my 360.

I wanted to get it on PS3. Just because its much quieter than the 360 and I like to play late at night. I don't want to get my girl up. But the PS3 demo scared me off of it for the PS3. I'm getting it on the 360. Playing the 2 Demos. The PS3 one has some serious issues.

Really? What serious issues does it have? I haven't been able to compare, but would like to know. Thanks.

Well on the 360 the colors and the player models appear to be sharper. On the PS3 there is stuttering after the plays. Particularly when they do the close up scenes. I've also noticed that the QB doesn't lineup under the center correctly either. Also the controls didn't seem as responsive and smooth as on the 360.

Someone asked Adam from EA about these issues. But he said its not like that on the retail version. I just can't take the risk though.

Xbox 360 because of Xbox Live. Not to mention, it looks slightly better on the 360 to me as well.

I think this still could be because of the 360 being the lead platform for most multi system games.. who knows though.. i will be getting it for the 360.. most of my friends have live and the online dynasty of live is too much to pass up.. i also like the way the controller feels compared to the ps3. it hurts my hands after an hour or so of playing mgs4... and who cant forget about the achievements!!

Re: People with both 360 and PS3...

Played both games at EA and played both demos....PS3 demo IS bad, but the full retail games were IDENTICAL in feel and appearance.

I am actually going to get it on both systems because of friends and leagues that operate on each one...but I would recommend the 360 over the PS3 still as long as XBL continues to have multiple features that Sony refuses to invest in for PSN.

Firmware 2.40 is a positive step but there's a lot of room left to improve online for the PS3 still.

Whew! This makes me feel better, as I'm really leaning towards getting a PS3 instead.

Did you notice this stutter that's being mentioned on PS3 retail version?

Thanks. That is good to hear. XBL is a great service. If I still had a 360, I would probably go that route because of my interest (and commitment) to on-line dynasty.

I did not notice any kind of stutter or framerate drops in Orlando last month....no one else mentioned it either, so while I can't 100% guarantee that something wasn't changed after we played the game, I can say that it was not noticed when we were there...

Re: People with both 360 and PS3...

I'm getting it for the 360 simply because the 360 has achievements. Why not have the additional feature? While i know achievements aren't that important its just something else to have fun with.

The only time i buy a game for the ps3 is if it's made for only the ps3 (MGS4, The Show etc)

Re: People with both 360 and PS3...

Yeah, I couldn't believe how much cleaner the 360 demo looked and felt. I hope that's not the case with the actual product. As for the feel of the controller, it's just what you're used to. It took awhile to get used to the 360 controller, and now it takes time getting reacquainted with the PS controller.

Re: People with both 360 and PS3...

After playing both Demo's on PS3 and 360....i prefer the 360. The gameplay is a little smoother on the 360 and teh quarterback lines off center less. Replay wise eventhough they say the PS3's replay has been fixed with the ball not rotationg and players not skating...i'm sure it's bound to happen sooner or later as u play the finish product. Graphic wise both are pretty identical. It's personal preference and I prefer to have the 360 version just a tad bit more. Not to mention I rather have a cover with McFadden on it then Ryan.

I will be picking up both NCAA 2009 and Madden 2009 for the PS3. I have both systems but prefer the PS3 controller over the 360's.

I downloaded both demos the day they came out and the following day sold my 360 on ebay because there was no more need for it. Last year, you needed a 360 if you wanted to play NCAA, this year, you don't.

Re: People with both 360 and PS3...

I really want to get it on PS3. My PS3 is just a MLB The Show/Blu-Ray Player for me, so I'd like to add some titles. Plus it is quieter and has never died on me. It's just really hard to trust that the PS3 version will run as smoothly as the 360 version. There are just too many cross platform titles that are better on the 360.

I own both and the 360 is my choice.XBOX live is just too damn nice!!!!

Re: People with both 360 and PS3...

Seen both in action and they are pretty much the same. The demo version of the PS3 has slightly muddier textures. It seems like the 360 has better AA. But both run the same other than the minor hitches in replay for the PS3.

I'm sure all this will be cleared up by release and both versions should be identical as stated in the last EA Event.

I'm curious as to what else the PS3 network needs to improve on in order to have the same online experience as people with a 360?
I have both systems and will most likely get it on my PS3 even though I play my 360 more. The latest update has made inviting friends online and checking messages easy just like on a 360. What else do you need?

Other than that, I have friends that play A LOT more strategic on PS3 than people I encounter on 360. Not to mention the fact that I'm on my 4th 360 (First 2 premium messed up and so did my first elite).

I'm starting to see more fan boyish comments than real reasons to choose one platform over the other. Maybe it's just me.

I'll be getting both....i'll do my most damage on 360. The Ps3 version is for the people who i know that dont have 360 and want me to kill them in ncaa.

Re: People with both 360 and PS3...

I would get it for the 360 because xbox live is simply better than the online service offered by Sony.

And the new 360s are very reliable IMO as i've had two that have died, but the recently released console is much better and has run well for me for the past 6 months.

Re: People with both 360 and PS3...

I asked the same question a few weeks ago...I decided to get it for the 360 and rent from gamefly for ps3 so I can play a dynasty with my friends who have ps3s.

Re: People with both 360 and PS3...

honestly if you play online I don't see how there's any decision to be made. all my friends are on xbox live. plus i played both demos and the 360 just feels better to me.

Re: People with both 360 and PS3...

Still not 100% sure but I'll probably be going with the 360 version. The only reason is most of my friends have a 360 and I think I know one other person with a PS3. We'll see how it goes though, I've been having a lot of problems with dirty disc errors lately, specifically with EA sports games. If some people get it early for PS3 and it's exactly the same as 360 then maybe I'll switch but right now I've got it reserved for 360.

Re: People with both 360 and PS3...

getting both for xbox360 due to the 1080p resolution and the fact that most of my friends have xbox360. i dont really play many games on my ps3, mostly a blu-ray player. the system has great potential though for a gaming system.

onetonmartin 07-07-2008 11:51 AM

Re: People with both 360 and PS3...

I've got both and am leaning toward the PS3.

What is the significance of the 1080p on 360? Is it one of those things where it looks exactly the same, but makes you feel better cause you can actually chose the 1080 option? Or has there really been proof that the 360's graphics have greater potential with the option? Also, does it limit framerates?

TIA

Matt Diesel 07-07-2008 12:05 PM

Re: People with both 360 and PS3...

I think there is a big enough difference to choose a game that offers 1080p over one that does not. Especially at games running 1080p @ 60 FPS.

1080p/60 from a console can be 60 different frames per second (instead of 24 different frames per second doubled and tripled, as with movie content). It seems smoother and more rich to me.
