PAC 10 Schedules are STILL Broken in Dynasty
 

This was SPECIFICALLY said to have been fixed.

It's an easy schedule to produce. Seriously. There is no way to screw this thing up. If you play one team at home this year, it's a road game the next year. If you play Arizona at home, you play Arizona State on the road. ALWAYS. You don't have them both on the road or both at home...EVER. Next season, Arizona State is home, Arizona on the road. EASY.

Season 1. Oregon State plays UCLA at home. Season 2...I have UCLA at home again. Season 1 Oregon State plays Arizona at home. Season 2...I have Arizona at home again. Season 1, Oregon State is @ USC. Season 2....same. Repeat with Washington, Washington State, Stanford, Cal, Oregon. That's the whole conference in case no one noticed. Season 2 conference schedules are IDENTICAL to Season 1.

The second problem with dynasty schedules is these ABSURD non-conference games in Week 15. There are almost never OOC games in December except for the in-state rivals like Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, and whoever plays Notre Dame. This is beyond annoying. I can fix mine, but I'm so very tired of these dumb Michigan State @ Western Kentucky Week 15 games.

I don't have time to go sim to Season 3 right now, but this is absurd. Oregon State's schedule has been broken on this game last year, and on 06, 07 and 08 on the old XBOX.

How this has been broken for half a decade when I go on this rant every year is baffling.

This is disappointing. The round robbin is probably the best schedule in CFB. It was even said to be fixed which is more disappointing. I can't say I'm surprised though that EA lied, again...

This is crap! I rolled with OSU last year in an online dynasty with my friends and noticed this. We were planning on doing our online dynasty again with the pac-10 but we will now reconsider based on the facts that you have just raised. EA is really starting to piss me off with this year's game. First the roster fubar then this But as mad as they make me, I will still purchase the game each year b/c its the only thing out there that simiulates the greatness of college football. SAD!

This sort of thing does happen occasionally in RL. Oregon played @ Washington state three times in a row from 2004-2006. Oregon also played @ Arizona three years in a row from 2001-2003. Of course in RL it's probably due to the complex nature of travel plans and coordination of many teams. One would like to think in a video game a more perfect schedule could be achieved.

I would be more concerned about the conferences that don't play round robin (Big 12, SEC, etc) rotating conference foes properly and hoping home/away falls into place.

That 3 year in a row stuff is old. That was the 8 game schedule. I remember that stuff happening. I had Arizona season tickets a while back, and I went to see Washington State 3 years in a row and didn't see Washington for 3 years. Doesn't happen anymore. The PAC 10 schedule is easy now. There's no more randomness.

I do now realize that they did fix the Arizona State-Oregon State. Oregon State is my team and I want to use them...and the Arizona State game has been broken forever. From the looks of it, they fixed that game...and broken EVERY single other game.

Simming Season 2 now...to see what mess Season 3 has in store for me.

Here is the official list. Not that I expect to accomplish anything with this, because I am certain I will hear about how this is unpatchable.

Season 1 is perfect with the exception of Washington State-Oregon State...wrong week...it was originally scheduled where the game has it, and they moved it...but they moved it before Arizona-Southern Cal was moved, and that was fixed...not sure why that game wasn't.

Season 2
Oregon State-Only the Arizona State game was rotated. The other 44 conference games are the same as the season before, which is wrong. All nine games should rotate sites every team. NO exceptions. In the past, the Arizona State game NEVER rotated. So, you've inverted a small annoyance and turned it into a disaster. The last versions of the old XBOX game had 1 game wrong. You had the other 39 right. Now you've fixed that one that was broken...and ALL other 44 conference games are wrong now.

Non-conference schedules were changed, and the Oregon State-Arizona State game was fixed, so this isn't an accident of having the same schedules in season 2 as season 1.

The other round-robin conferences:
Mountain West...similarly broken in season 2.(only looked at AFA, but it's the identical conference schedule as season 1)
Sun Belt(based only on looking at Arkansas State) is fine
WAC(based on only looking at Boise State) is fine
Big East similarly fine based on looking only at Cincinnati

sim ahead 3-4 yrs, i know it kinda blows if youd have to wait that long to play em on the road, but maybe?

yeah, season 2 is simming right now...takes like 20 minutes...or longer...and my wrath is growing with each minute

Season 3 in theory should be the exact same as Season 1 in terms of sites.
It rotated from Season 2 however. Except for Arizona State-Oregon State

That game works perfectly. I was away, then home, now away again. But that throws everything off because the others didn't rotate like that.

I feel ya dude...I'm just tryin to help figure something out to get by...i'm really feeling this game, and i wanna roll with WaSH. St. or Stanford....I dunno if i could if the schedules messed up...i mean is it just Oregon St, or the whole Pac-10? Id like to alternate at least my rivalry game with Washington ya know lol

hopefully we can figure something out to get by tho if it is messed up year in year out

Season 2 is wrong for everyone. Whoever you have home Season 1 is home Season 2, same for the road. The only game that changed stadiums is Oregon State vs. Arizona State.

Season 3 is rotated from Season 2, which in the sense that Season 3 should be identical to Season 1, is wrong.

The jist of it is Season 2 is wrong, and it throws off everything from there on out. How they made 1 game out of 45 rotate correctly from Season 1 to Season 2 is beyond me.

So for the first 2 seasons, the Civil War is in Eugene, the Apple Cup is in Seattle, the Duel in the Desert is in Tempe, the Big Game is in Palo Alto, and the USC-UCLA game is in the Coliseum. Then it rotates after that. Which is still wrong in the sense that the years are off.

Ditto for the Mountain West. Season 2 is wrong for them too, and then it finally starts rotating in the 3rd season.

If the Sun Belt should alternate perfectly like the PAC 10 does, then that is broken too, at least for Arkansas State, but not until Season 3. 1 and 2 were fine for them, but Arkansas State has 2 games that didn't rotate between season 2 and 3.

WAC seems fine all 3 years, based on only Boise State
Big East seems fine all 3 years, based on only Cincinnati

if thats the case then I can live with that. I just started a dynasty with Washington, so i might just sim the first season and roll from there. Not ideal by any means.

Is this something they would even attempt to patch? I didn't have XBL last year so I never applied any patches for 09 to see if they fixed it.

It could be worse, but this is still laughably inept(if it wasn't so annoying, it'd be laughable....I'm not laughing)

I guess when they said Arizona State-Oregon State was fixed, that was correct. That game works. They didn't say that they wouldn't break 44 other games to do it. So I guess I won't say they lied.

My feeling is...this is patchable, but people would have to re-start their dynasties because it would probably cause a crash.

The show patched their schedule and then (I think) people just had to start over? Dont remember.

They just patched the base roster of the game though, so the base schedule has got to be patchable too.

And they better...this is gonna ruin the PAC 10 and Mountain West for many people.

Good question. I guess I'll take a look at those. Hopefully more are screwed up, because my feeling is they don't care enough to fix it if it's only the PAC 10 and Mountain West.

Thanks man. Yea, I will hate it if the SEC is messed up since I run with Kentucky.

Year 2 should have a rotation of a new team for each SEC opponent though.

Year 1 Kentucky plays Alabama, Florida, UT, Miss ST, @ Auburn, @ SC, @ Vandy, @ GA

Year 2 should be Vandy, GA, SC, Auburn, @Miss St, @ FL, @ UT, @ Ole Miss.

So, West opponent Bama is dropped and Ole Miss is added.

Big 12 looks mostly fine for season 2 in the divisional rotation area. The order is a little off...the schedule is out through 2015...but they didn't put them in the order that's already been establish. Not too big of a deal, except Kansas and Missouri aren't eachother's last game of the year...that's pretty lame.

4 different SEC teams had correct schedule in 2010(slightly different order)...that's not shocking...the inconsistent semi-random SEC schedule is correct, but the impossible to screw up PAC 10 is messed up.

Big 10 looks bad...I'll get into just how bad in a minute...

that's too bad, but at least the rotation after season 2 is okay. i don't understand why the scheduling is so difficult, though. it's not even a logic based thing (like madden's).

Again, Big 10 schdules are set for a few years in advance I think...

Iowa in 2010 should have:
Home-Penn State, Wisconsin, Michigan State, Ohio State
Away-Minnesota, Northwestern, Indiana, Michigan
Don't play: Purdue, Illinois

Iowa in 2010 on the game:
Home-Minnesota, Michigan, Indiana, Penn State(2 out of 4 correct)
Away-Purdue, Michigan State, Wisconsin, Northwestern(1 out of 4 correct)
Don't Play: Illinois, Ohio State(1 out of 2 correct)

Indiana should have Michigan at home in 2010, they aren't even on the schedule.
Ohio State should be on the road, it's at home. Ditto Illinois. Etc etc etc

Big 10 is pretty bad season 2...I won't continue, think the point is made on them.

ACC is fine in season 2.

Simming to season 3 to see what's in store.

Season 3 is basically the same as season 2. Big 10 continues to be way off. SEC and their randomness is perfect, Big 12 and ACC still fine.

So, the Big 10 is off after season 2.
PAC 10 is completely off except for 1 game starting season 2.
Mountain West seems to have the same problem as the PAC 10. Not sure if there are any exceptions in there or not.
Sun Belt...not 100% their rotation is perfect, but if it is, that goes haywire season 3.

I'm almost certain this is patchable. I'm just almost as certain they won't do it.

And don't even get me started on these excessive week 15 non-conference games. Way too many OOC games this late in the season and a lot of them are just games that would never happen.

Yea I remember a few years ago I noticed that week 15 game for the big 10 I was like I just thought oh they must of not noticed that but then it happening every single year so most likely they will never fix the scheduling issue but they will add something meaningless though

the Big Ten is wrong in season 2. i remember seeing Minnesota at Michigan in season 2. we don't play Michigan the next 2 season.
