NBA 2K11: Finals Starting Five
 With the NBA Finals beginning Tuesday night in Miami, the questions around here revolve around what that means in NBA 2K11. So we have been asking this question: Who would we want starting for us in the NBA 2K Finals? Forget about the bench players, screw the sixth man, who are the starters leading us to victory? To answer that question, I did not just pick the top-rated players in the game. No, this team complements one another to the point where I can’t lose to even the best players I have played. Rajon Rondo-There are enough points in the rest of the line up for him to focus on assists and running the offense. Can also run an amazing fast break with...
Dwayne Wade-Great athleticism, defense, and a decent mid-long range jumper. Can also finish at the rim and is a good passer. With 2 guys to stretch the floor he can penetrate and kick to... Kevin Durant-Unlimited range. Fast enough to beat most guys big enough to check him, and can shoot over anyone else at the 3. Can run off ball screens with... Dirk Nowitzki-Another floor stretcher. A 7 foot floor stretcher. Can post up anyone and hit a turn around jumper, or face up and hit a contested shot over most players. Not much of a rebounder but then there's... Dwight Howard-20 and 14 says it all. The reigning defensive player of the year would defend the opposing teams best big and clean the glass. Also a pick and roll with Rondo/Wade and D12 would be ridiculous. I think this team could win not 4, not 5, not 6, not 7... |
I think these players compliment each other perfectly & would be a great "team".
PG: Derron Williams - Good size, great passer. SG: Ray Allen - Great shooter & team defender SF: Andre Iguodala - A poor mans LeBron, can defend the best perimeter player PF: LaMarcus Aldridge - Great post player, can hit the outside shot C: Dwight Howard - Best Center in the game, rebounds & blocks shots |
Rondo can't shoot so Chris Paul at PG
Kobe at SG only because he's deadlier in the game than Wade even though at this point Wade is the better player in real life Lebron at SF because he's unstoppable KG or Bosh at PF because they can shoot lights from the midrange especially Bosh off the baseline screen and you have enough defense with Lebron and... Dwight Howard on the inside, best rebounder and shot blocker. |

As we're talking in game,I agree with 3/5 in the original article with Kobe at SG,Ibaka at PF and D12 at C.
I'd replace Nash with Paul. Paul is just as good on offense and better at the defensive end and will get more steals than Nash would. Again at SF I'm going defense and taking Josh Smith. He can block shots like crazy,great rebounder and gets some steals. He's not as good as Lebron on offense but he can still drive the lane and knock down the 3. Defense wins championships! 12-15 blocks per game with 8-15 steals. |

PG - Lebron James: most unstoppable force on the game.
SG - Ray Allen: best 3pt shooter on the game SF - Kevin Durant: pure shooter PF - Kevin Garnett: best help defender in game (explain below) C - Dirk Nowitzki: i can get "green" with his stroke everytime My Gameplan OFFENSE -- Let LeBron do his thing and score in the beginning. He is easily the most unstoppable person on the game. When everyone starts doubling him, thats when the fun begins. When someone comes to double, it obviously leaves someone open, look at my roster.....Who isn't gonna knock down a wide open shot?!?!? Easy buckets! DEFENSE -- Run a 1-3-1 zone. Put Nowitzki in the middle and Garnett on the baseline. Lebron will have a field day with cross court passes. Easy buckets! He can pass, shoot the jumper, get to the rim and play defense. SG- Dwayne Wade, Miami Heat He is athletic, can pass, get to the rim, finish in traffic, shoot the mid range jumper and play defense. SF- LeBron James, Miami Heat He is big, quick, and strong. He is a top 3 passer and scorer in the league. He is also a great leader and closer. PF- Dirk Nowitzki, Dallas Mavericks Best post scorer in the game. Also has great range. I didn't go w/ LeBron because I think he dominates the ball too much which takes away from your PG runnin' the offense. You can't go wrong with LeBron obviously, I just think my team would play better together without him.

If I had to choose an in-game starting 5 for a championship team this would be the team. This team compliments each other with everyone having their own role. If you put to many scorers on one team it can be disastrous.
PG- Rondo- better defense than most other pgs, cant shoot worth crap but can drive the lane and has great vision. SG- Wade- Provides another source of athleticism, can slash to the basket for and-ones and easy buckets. Doesn't provide a great threat from the perimeter but can knock it down. Great threat from mid-range however and create his own shot. Also a great source of defense. SF- Lebron James- Obvious choice here. He provides great athleticism and defense while also giving you an unstoppable force on offense. Has the greatest vision for passing of a forward and can find the open options when they double. This would be my primary scorer. PF- Dirk Nowitzki- Hard choice here just because most good PFs don't provide great defense, ex Bosh, Boozer, Gasol, and including Nowitzki. Garnett is one of the only ones with good defense but can't provide a lot if minutes. With Nowitzki he provides height, a great touch from everywhere on the floor and provides a great out pass destination for lebron and wade when other teams crash the middle when the slash inside. C- Dwight Howard- Easy choice here. Provides great athleticism and gives you rebounds and blocks with numerous second chance opportunities. He also doesn't need to be your dominant scorer but can take over against weaker centers. |

PG - Dwyane Wade.
Can do it all on both ends of the court. Has the size and strength advantage over most point guards but can still defend the position well. Sg - Rudy Gay. Same as Wade. Can defend the position well and has height and length advantage over most shooting guards. Also doesn't dominate the ball. SF - lebron James. Since Wade and gay are at the guard positions, lebron will handle the ball and facilitate the offense. Can defend all positions. Pf - Dirk nowitzki Aside from gay, not really any knock down shooters from the arc. Dirk adds an element of offense at the expense of defense. But the four other players are exceptional defenders that will make up it. C - Dwight Howard. Superstar banger. Best defender and rebounder at his position. Awesome defensive paint presence. With these 5, you get great defense, shooting, good ball movement with Dirk and lebron, clutch finishers at 3 or 4 positions, slashers and size. Also have 5 guys that can play great fast break ball or half court ball. |

The right answer is that you put LeBron James at the 1. LeBron James is the best point guard, shooting guard, small forward, and power forward in this game.
So... PG - LeBron James SG - Ray Allen Of all the players that can consistently give me at least 2-3 3s a game, he's the most complete player. Even if he's been cold or night I still have confidence shooting with him. Closer at the free throw line. SF - Gerald Wallace A guy who can fill up the stat sheet in all sorts of ways and a good defender, isn't a liability on offense and can run with LeBron on the break. PF - Dirk Nowitzki The best 'stretch 4' there is. A jumpshooting big man is really useful considering the players I'm using. Another closer at the free throw line. C - Dwight Howard I think pretty much everyone has him in their line up |
PG - Rose. C'mon how can you NOT have the MVP on your roster??
SG - Wade. Not a Kobe guy. Wade can defend and he doesn't command the ball like Kobe, also younger. SF - Durant. Unlimated range, best shooter in the game. PF - Paul Gasol. Has decent range, cleans the boards well, and can create offense in the low post or eat least draw a foul C - Shaq...just kidding. D12 is the only choice here. |

PG: Rose, with the newest roster updates Rose is just dominant. It's unfair to have him running the show.
SG: Kobe, the Black Mamba is the easy choice here. As clutch as they come and his three point shooting is deadly in key situations. SF: Rudy Gay, love his playing style, nothing against LeBron at all I just find Rudy Gay to be a lot better in the game for me personally. PF: Gerald Wallace, I'm going small and athletic here. G-Dub can absolutely turn around a game with his defense and fast break points. C: Dwight Howard, this is really the only choice at the C position. An athletic force down low. Extra Points for my best bench players. PG: Russel Westbrook, cut from the same mold as Derrick Rose, athletic point guard who can rack up steals. SF: Kevin Durant, athletic swing man who can knock down jumpers with deadly accuracy. Extremely explosive in the fast break. PF: Pau Gasol, the best all around PF in the game, the only reason I went with G-Force at the four is because I wanted an athletic defensive minded line up.... |

PG - Steve Nash: A great passer who will get everyone else on the team involved. Commands attention on offense because of his great shooting ability which stops the defense from sagging onto the post players, this is the main reason I take him over Rondo. Has the ability to run the Pick and Roll/Pop with to near perfection with this team.
SG - Kobe Bryant: One of, if not the best in the game when it comes to closing it out down the stretch. Can also defend the other team's best player and score from anywhere on the court. SF - Carmelo Anthony: Great shooter from all over the court, big and strong, a better defender in the game than in real life. PF - Dirk Nowitzki: Obvious choice at this point, has the ability to take the game over with his scoring on any given night. Him and Nash would be deadly off the Pick together with him having the ability to pop or roll and Nash being able to pass to him, Kobe or shoot himself. A threat to score anywhere inside of half court, has shown the ability to play defense and rebound when it's necessary and his offensive arsenal will keep the double team away from... C - Dwight Howard. Obvious choice, a monster on the glass and down low Dwight would be the anchor of the team. With multiple player's who can get him the ball and a team that forces everyone to play honest Dwight has the ability to dominate both ends of the floor with his rebounding, defense and second chance points. |

NBA 2k11 has a salary cap right? and team chemistry turned on. I refuse to believe you could keep a team of superstars happy.
1. Derrick Rose - Energetic ball handler who will run the offence. Great, giving attitude helps offence. Defensively great. ($5.5 million this year) 2. Jason Terry - Floor spacing extraordinaire. A consumate shooter who will accept the 3rd scoring role and an effort defender. ($9.8 million this year) 3. Grant Hill - The Ageless Wonder. Easily the best one-on-one defender (on 4 positions) in the league. I don't care what the game says, in real life - he shuts superstars down. ($3.2 million this year) 4. Dirk Nowitzki - Beats out Randolph purely on his ability to handle any defence thrown at him. Exactly the compliment to D-Rose's gun-ho offensive style ($17.3 Million this year) 5. Joakim Noah - Offensive Glass wins championships, see the Lakers in 2009-10 ($3.2 million this year) A first ring for all involved with $19 million in cap room for a bench. Aside: I also fantasy drafted a team a while back which the game rated 1st defensively, 3rd offensively and 1st overall 1. Mo Williams 2. Manu Ginobli 3. Terrence Williams 4. Lemarcus Aldrige 5. PF-Nowitzki - Amazing performer but doesn't ball hog, can share with.... SF-James - Most dominant player in the league, and makes all his team mates better SG-Wade - Wade & James have shown they can work together well. Kobe hasn't looked dominant since paul pierce shut him down in the finals. The mamba is dry, it needs to be moisterized. PG-Kidd - We got a enough big names, we don't need a scorer here we need someone who's gonna be smart and handle the ball well. |

Ray Allen Durant Dirk Yao All great players in the game. All work well together. Rose can drive and kick. Ray hits everything. Durant can create his own shot from anywhere. Dirk can post and hit from everywhere. Yao can post and plays excellent D because of his size. |

SG - D. Rose. More of a scorer than PG, Rated ovr 4 pts higher as a SG. Defense, Passing, Playmaking. SF - Kevin Durant. Rebounds, Makes any open shot, Cant miss from the Line. PF - Lebron James. Size,Strength, Defense to play PF, Passing, Playmaking. C - Dwight Howard - Best Center in the Game. Defense. How it Works: CP3 - runs the offense distributing, driving and kicking it out and recieving open 3pt looks from passes off lebron in the post. D.Rose - Great Slasher to the basket with PG skills to be able to kick it out to an open durant,CP3, or most likely an open lebron once the PF and C crash in on him. Durant. - Superstar who can rebound and shoot lights out, with 3 viable passers getting open looks for him becomes a normal thing. **His liability can sometimes be his defense but not many teams have Star SF and PF so Durant and Lebron could flip in certain matchups given Durants size, but not preferred. Lebron - Has the Size Strength and Quickness to defend effectively in the low post, but also can use that size strength and speed to burn any PF in ISO. Puts a lot of pressure on a PF to match up defensively, throws off a teams entire Gameplan. Howard - Enough Said. |
