Re: Steam Deck Madden Game Play 22-23 ?

I've been playing Madden 23 on my SD and so far it's been a good experience. I have my fps limited to 40 with all the graphic settings on "high" and it stays locked at 40 fps during gameplay. The only real issue with it is during "cutscenes" like post-play sack or td celebrations the fps tanks into the 20's, sometimes even below that. It happens with wide stadium shots and the pre game stuff as well. Luckily none of the slowdown affects actual gameplay so to me it isn't a big deal. Like on pc it does require Origin to run and you have to be logged in when playing but so far this hasn't given me any issues. The cloud saving works with Origin too, which is great. I started a game on my Steam Deck, quit in the middle of the game, and resumed that same game on my pc the next day, worked great!

I'm using proton version 7.0.4 I believe (the newest one available). I love my Steam Deck btw, hopefully you will like yours as much as I like mine! It's a fantastic device!

      Hi-

Does that mean you can't play offline without an internet connection?

Also do updates auto download for steam or you have to do it?

      Thanks

I don't know if offline play is possible, I will try it out and see what happens.

M23 hasn't had an update yet on pc but I don't know why it wouldn't auto update like all other steam games.

I tried to launch M23 while in Offline mode and it prompted me to log in to Origin regardless so my best guess is playing offline isn't possible. It might work offline if you launch the game directly through Origin itself but I kind of doubt it.

I also play on the Steam Deck and it great. I have started 2 franchises one I play and one that I started with 2012 roster and do CPU vs CPU while working from home “virtually” I stream from steam deck to iPad Pro and it’s awesome!

Any good PC settings for CPU vs CPU or fro player vs CPU?
