    NBA 2K23 - Players Added/Removed from the Game - Guide

    Hey Everyone,

    2K23 features a ton of new players added to classic teams, all-time teams, and of course the MYNBA ERA rosters for 1983-184, 1991-1992, & 2002-2003. I wanted to start a thread highlighting who has been added and who has been removed this year. This list will be continually updated throughout the year as players may be added later.

    Chris Webber - 2001-2002 Sacramento Kings * Is included on the default pre-day 1 roster update but was removed*

    Iman Shumpert - 2011-2012 New York Knicks, 2015-2016 Cleveland Cavaliers

    Marc Gasol - 2012-2013 Memphis Grizzlies, 2018-2019 Toronto Raptors

    Aron Baynes - 2013-2014 San Antonio Spurs

    Patrick McCaw - 2016-2017 Golden State Warriors, 2018-2019 Toronto Raptors


    The All-Time Teams mainly have the same players as last year as it seems not much was updated with them outside of a player or two being added or removed.

    Jayson Tatum - Added, Sam Jones - Removed - All-Time Celtics

    Chris Webber - Removed, Lionel Simmons - Added - All-Time Kings


    There are a lot of players specifically included in the NBRPA which is where 2K gets help in getting the player likeness rights for players. These players are members of the NBRPA BUT do not appear currently in NBA 2K23 on Classic Teams

      It’s Sam Jones they removed not KC. He’s off the ‘65 team too which is a shame. Probable because he died.

                                  Kite played one month with the Knicks, getting waived in Feb. He finished the season on the Pacers.

                                  The Pacers BEAT THE KNICKS in the playoffs that year. And YES, Kite played AGAINST the Knicks in that series. You can't make this stuff up.

                                              So in previous versions 2K used the end of season/playoff version of rosters for the original classic teams. It seems this year with the NBA Era addition they are using opening night rosters for some of the classic teams. Billy McKinney on 85-86 Bulls is another that is incorrect since he was waived early in the season. IMO, both Kite and McKinney should be removed in these cases. Kite does correctly belong on the 85-86 Celtics though.

                                                  He was out all of last season so officially 2K has to remove him unless he signs a deal to include his likeness rights. If he signs in the NBA this year that will allow 2K to gain his likeness rights for 2K23+2K24.

                                                      If the NBA signs him he should b patched in this year. I know they have his DNA stored somewhere.

                                                          Someone should try to contact Iman Shumpert, I'm almost sure he's a 2K player too and probably not aware that he's not in the game anymore

                                                          He's 100% in the game, they would only need to add him via a roster update. No patch needed
