I just went upto my local Gamestop. They claimed they did not receive shipment of the Championship Edition pre orders. There were guys trying to pick up their pre orders also pretty ticked about this. If they don't have it tomorrow I will be getting my refund.

Happened to me but my store contacted me this afternoon to let me know. I jumped online and snagged one there. Likely won’t get it until Monday now.

Well at this point I rather Gamestop refund me back my full amount for the Championship edition and buy the regular edition somewhere else then.

Well, it makes sense why mine got shipped on the 8th and won't arrive until Monday.

I'm not understanding why 2K/Take - Two made the Championship Edition a GameStop exclusive if issues arose with 2K22. Lame all around.

I might even wait till there's a price reduction around the holidays at this point. I wanted to support them even more after learning of the eras modes, but this is inexcusable. GameStop promised to mail me new gift cards to replace what I used for this big purchase.

After I get those (assuming they don't fudge that up), this is the last time I'm making a purchase from GameStop.

I just spoke with my local GameStop, they said they still haven't gotten the Championship Edition in and they have not ETA of when they are getting it. I told them to forget it and just hold the standard edition for me till I get there and refund me the rest of my money I paid in full for the Championship version. I wanted it partly because of NBA League pass, but since the price has now dropped on league pass and GameStop screwing this up, I'm fine with just having the standard edition. I just want to play the game at this point, especially since alot of people it is great this time around.

Per r/Gamestop a lot of stores didn’t receive all their allocations for pre orders plus didn’t get extras for walk ins. They claimed this is due to a Gamestop store breaking street date with 2K22 so 2K held back copies. Whats weird is why would 2K make the Championship edition exclusive to Gamestop then turn around and cut supply to them. My local Gamestop only got PS5 and PS4 copies. No Xbox copies came in.

This is BS. My cousin has worked for GameStop for 10 years and corporate is very strict about keeping street dates. GameStop doesn’t even let you ring up a game on the register until the exact hour of authorized release.

There of course is a way around this. Where a game stop employee could ring you up for a different game that’s already released, then hand you the copy of 2k. But even then 2K wouldn’t even know your breaking street date because all sales are tracked through the software the registers are run on.

My guess is it’s supply chain issues. I hear UPS/FedEx can be up to 2 days late on all shipments right now, and there is a huge long haul trucker shortage going on around the country. More than likely they were supposed to get them today but they are late.

Does anyone think there's a chance the Championship Edition will become available for purchase after they canceled preorders? I still prefer to buy games out of the box and really liked the Jordan jersey box as something to stay with my game collection.

I was actually able to get mines today. The delivery truck finally came to my local gamestop with the Championship editions of the game.

GameStop tried to sell me 2K23 in a bundle for $700 today after only telling me they had it in stock when I called before going to the store but they apparently are only selling it to some sort of premium members and in a bundle for $700. Would’ve been nice to know before I made the trip…

Same thing happened to me at my local Gamestop. They called last night but said it would be here this morning. Nobody called again and I drove up there. I'm pretty mad. I had gotten away from buy from them. But reading some of this it seems like 2K needs some blame as well. It is ridiculous to punish those paying the most. If it isn't there there tomorrow I'll be cancelling my preorder and get my money back. And I won't be buying it again until it is on sale or much cheaper because I don't think 2K is blame free either. This is a clown show.

Yep, went to my local GameStop and the guy told me he couldn't sell me a Series X copy because the only ones they had left were pre-orders. So I went to Walmart about 30 minutes ago and they had it. I copped it there

Well, I was just able to order it from the 2K store. We'll see if it holds up and delivers. I guessed the copies GameStop was supposed to have were somewhere because they are THAT incompetent.
