How to do an alley oop without setting a screen?

So... the CPU teams do all kinds of amazing alley oops this year in 5vs5 offline play, with the passer standing behind the 3 point line and the dunker cutting to the basket by themselves.

How to do the same? I only do alley oops from a pick, because otherwise nobody cuts to the basket, asking for an oop.

I was noticing the same thing and watched a few cpu replays. I notice the player catching the lob throws a hand up.

Not sure if it is the same, but previous years you had to pass with the player you want to dunk with, but hold the pass button down, then control the old player to the hoop. Then you would double tap lob for the alley-oop.

Higher difficulty AIs were too smart for it, but it was fun when it worked.

Using individual play calls, you can make a player cut to the basket. It’s one of the first options. Left bumper - select player- cut to the basket

You only have a split second to recognize the oop is there, make the button press(es), then successfully time it. Not a problem for the AI but it is for a human.

There have been a handful of times I didn't see it until too late and was like "damn"
