Excellent review. I think that I am going to buy today. I haven't gotten into a football game in what seems like forever. Plus I want to support these guys and their hard work.

This review is spot-on! The Axis team has released an improved product with every version (note that they changed their numbering system, so there is no Axis Football 22 - it went from Axis 2021 (released in 2021) to Axis 23 (just released)). The focus by the team for this season was on the field, and it shows. The game plays much better than prior versions. As the review notes, this is not up to Madden standards for animation, graphics or polish (or depth of the franchise mode, for that matter), but is also a third of the price of Madden ($19.99). And, it feels good to help an independent developer that is diligently refining its product. I have purchased this product in the past more to support the effort than to really play the game. This started to change with the 2021 version and is now fully different - I am actually playing Axis 2023.

We could care less how this compares to Madden, which is basically what you just told us all. Give us actual info on the Axis game itself...game modes, coaching, trading, free agents, stats and so on. We all know a small indy dev team cannot make a AAA Madden like game, so stop talking about that aspect.

I would have liked to hear about other modes such as franchise mode or others, offseason, AI outside of on field, etc...

I bought the game a few days ago on XboxOne and this Year's Game is a massive leap in leap in Gameplay. Definitely worth the $19.95, and the Development Team is active with Patches and Very Open to Feedback.

Is there 2 player co-op in Franchise Mode?
