Madden 22 or Madden 23 PS5?
 

Sooooooooo with ALL the things that is wrong with Madden 23 I thought I'd ask.

Is MADDEN 22 a better game then 23?

What's everyone's opinion of Madden 22 over Madden 23?

Madden 22 is the buggiest game of Madden I have ever played. Avoid it at all costs.

What exactly is so buggy about it? I'm not saying I think it is a great game of football but my understanding is it is much more stable than 23 with all of it's issues right now. 23 has the potential to be a great game but there are a lot of things wrong with it that need patched. I don't remember 22 being nearly this buggy and for sure by the end of it's cycle it became pretty stable.

So seriously wondering what you consider buggy? Or is it more just disappointing game play?

If I were to recommend a current gen version right now it would be 21.

The only thing 22 has over 23 is Campus Legends, which is my favorite mode since draft champions.

Other than that, 21 is better than both Imo.

If we are including 21 in the equation I am a big fan of it as well. They really had the physics and weight of the players down on this version. When I go back to it from time to time for testing, you can really feel the difference. The odd thing is I hardly notice the cut scenes are at 30fps compared to the gameplay.

Other things that stood out to me about 21 were:

Runners are able to fall forward more naturally when getting tackled if they had a lot of forward momentum. On 22 and 23 I can be running full speed with Nick Chubb and get stopped dead in my tracks or even knocked backwards 3-4 times a game.

I see pass interference called a lot and there is a specific animation where the db grabs you when this get's called.

It really makes you wonder why they changed the physics. The gap between NextGen animation and previousgen is smaller now than it was when 21 released. We all went bonkers for it at the time.

If we were presented with Madden 23 animations and physics back when 21 NG released, I don't feel like it would have felt as impressive....or at least not as big of a leap forward. It's still better, but it is not nearly as smooth and natural as 21 was.

22 has its own issues. Not the extent of 23 but the franchise save file corruption bug is still there.

For what it is worth, Madden 21 on PS5 is the way to go for a PS5 version of Madden.

22 is the only one so far it feels like they got the game speed and movement right. I find 21 too fast and arcade-like in game speed, and 23 too spastic in player animations. 22 is the sweet spot for me.
