    What’s the latest you’ve blown a no-hitter/perfect game?

I’ve pitched a perfect game way back when John lackey pitched for the Red Sox…circa 2011/12. But haven’t come close since, until last night.

Had a no hitter with DeGrom on my save, which incidentally I’ve played every inning fully and I’m near the end of the year for the first time!

Anyway got into the 9th, facing the top of the cubs order. Out number one with just over 100 pitches, I’m on my way! Two strikes on the next hitter 1-2…catcher calls for a fast ball low and away which I aim for right on the corner of the strike zone…didn’t miss but somehow the hitter managed to get underneath it to bloop a hit just over the second baseman’s head :-(.

    I was devastated!

It’s taken me years to get as close as that and I’m not sure I will again.

    Anyone else come closer?

I've had a few no-hitters, and a couple of perfect games over the 1000's of games that I've played. To answer your question though, I can't remember who it was against, but it must have been in the 2010-13 range, because it was Brandon Morrow starting for my Jays, and I had a perfect game going for 8.2 IP, before giving up a walk, followed by a single, followed by a 3 run, game winning homer. Sometimes you just have to know when to call the pen. I probably should have been immediately fired after the game ended.

My most recent one came a few months ago, in game 1 of the Mariners season (using '20). Robbie Ray, 10 k's, no hits, no walks...I knew it was going to be a special night by the 4th innings, because he was just untouchable. It was somehow below 100 pitches as well, and that's with quick counts on.

Once had a perfect game going until hitter 27. Single to the first base side blew it.

Played RTTS for many years(started with 12 until no carryover) as a pitcher.
Would guess I had at least 3 perfect games ruined on the last out by errors that the game ruled hits.
It seemed like the last few years they did away with the issue by not letting you get that far.

          offhand I can't correctly recall
but I'm almost positive the earliest I lost a perfect game/no-no was like the first inning

I once had a perfect game through 8 innings with Johan Santana when he was with the Mets.

I was playing the Marlins on the road. I still remember it until this day.

I struck out the side in the 8th and was ready to close it out in the ninth.

The first batter in the 9th got a hit. I have not gotten that close since then.

Pretty sure I have blown a few in the 9th.
The one and only no-hitter/perfect game I did throw though was the final game of the world series several years ago with Gio Gonzalez. That made up for the near misses.

I lost a no hitter on the final out of the game because Yuli couldn't field a dribbler right up the line to first base. Verlander was pitching.

                  Re: What’s the latest you’ve blown a no-hitter/perfect game?

Lost a no-hitter on the last batter, was either '20 or '21, Scherzer on the bump for the Nats against the Pirates.

I'm not gonna lie, the hit given up was my fault, I missed my spot. I paused the game before the ball even hit the grass, contemplated resuming, decided to just turn the game off and take a sadness nap.

That's the only time I've ever gotten beyond the 5th with a no-no/perfect intact in MLB The Show. I did throw 3 in MLB2K, specifically 2K9 and 2K11, but, is that actually an accomplishment?

2 outs in the 9th, with Chien-Ming Wang if that tells you how long ago it was. I've never gotten another one past the 6th inning.

Ha. I lost one in the 11th inning....thats right 11 innings.. had a no hit through 10-2/3 but team absolutely could not score a run to win it.

With 1 out in the 10th inning back on MLB 19 I think. Felix Hernandez threw a gem, but I hit into 4 double plays and lost 1-0 on a walkoff double.

                          Re: What’s the latest you’ve blown a no-hitter/perfect game?

In franchise mode of '21, I almost pitched two straight no hitters with Ohtani except I gave up a hit with 1 out in the 9th in the second game... to Adalberto Mondesi, who hit a double off the wall some how, on a pitch out of the zone. First game wasn't a perfect game because Adalberto Mondesi had a strikeout on a ball in a dirt but it went all the way to the backstop in the first and that guy is quick. I'd definitely be far angrier if he had a bunt hit to break one up but fair play if the guy hits a solid double off a ball outside the zone that I threw to make him chase, not much I can really do in that kind of situation I think.

In RTTS the last no hitter I threw was on '20, but it was also the last RTTS where I played the player character for long enough to make free agency. My guy was a lefty with a 4 seamer, sinker, forkball, palmball, and slider, which is a pretty weird arsenal of pitches and took me 6 seasons to throw one, but somehow I managed to throw 1 perfect game and 2 no hitters that season and 2 more no hitters the next and nothing for the next 2 when I upgraded to the PS5 and haven't played it since.

Also, I don't know how many of you guys play March to October but it frequently asks you to finish no hitter/perfect games from the 6th inning on, except sometimes the situation is absolutely ludicrous and the game will not let you get taken out even if your pitch count is way beyond what's acceptable. In '21 I had to finish a no hitter, with Jaime Barria, and in the end I finished it but walked 7 and threw 150 pitches. I walked 7 in 3 innings, by the way, I can't remember how many he had when I took over but the manager is getting fired first thing if that actually happened IRL I think.
