PK Awarded in Midfield?

I didn't record this or screenshot it, but in my match I was just playing I was awarded a penalty kick for a foul that was committed in my own half. The opposing team had 3 players who were behind the ball, and a midfielder played through my strikers back. Foul? Yes. PK? Absolutely not??? Anyone else experience anything like this?

Something similar to this happened in a co-op game that I played yesterday. The foul was committed outside the box but a penalty was awarded. First time that I’d experienced something like that so I wonder if it may be related to the last update.

Conceded a penalty earlier today for a foul committed just inside my own half, first time I’ve experienced it.
