what control how often and the effectiveness of off ball cuts?

CPU v CPU. I'm on last gen but I think the question carries over.

I've always wondered this. There doesn't seem to be any corresponding player rating outside of maybe the hustle attribute. If its in the coach settings, or coaching adjustments, then what decides which players cut?

My best guess is that it comes down to "Cutter" play types in the playbook for set plays and then whatever quick cuts are assigned to the current freelance. But if that's all there is to it then aren't we extremely limited when it comes to freelance cuts for CPU controlled players? If that's not correct, then can anybody provide some insight about how this works in the system?

He should have said "You will see Kurt Warner come out of retirement. That's about it."

IIRC, Da Czar has mentioned that it's tied to Spot Up tendencies. So a low Spot Up 3PT means they won't hang around behind the line very long before cutting if there's an opportunity, and turning it up makes them less likely to cut.
