Zero interest in this. Last year, Frontier abandoned the game after 3 months and folks raised heck about it so they came back. This one is almost double the price and all they've added is scenarios. No changing teams, no F2, or F3. Folks on PC are far better off springing for Motorsports Manager and using mods to replicate F1.

Yup no purchase for me this year. Not enough new stuff and Frontier abandoned the game.

I take it no one has picked up the early release version of this title who could provide some impressions??
EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.

I did. Quite enjoyed 22 and this one is better in virtually every aspect. AI is seriously improved, the costs have been adjusted so you actually need to take the cost cap into account. Need to get way more time on the game (Only in the third race weekend so far) but I'm quite enjoying it

Yeah, after playing this all weekend I can confidently say this is such an improvement over '22 it's not even funny. The driver confidence feature is tremendous and makes every weekend truly feel dynamic and different, and the additional costs and changes to development make it really hard to just throw all your money into one part and suddenly dominate the grid after 10 races

As an example, playing as Ferrari, LeClerc has obviously been my #1 driver, but just got done the weekend in Spain. Leclerc got taken out twice during practice (Which ended up costing upwards of 6.6 million just to get his car setup again for the GP since I was foolish and didn't make any extra parts, so had to use emergency manufacturing to remake virtually the entire thing twice), but on top of that, with no virtually no practice time, he was a sitting duck. He ended up qualifying P8 (When he's averaging anywhere from P5-P1 when confident) and couldn't get anything going during the GP, struggling for overtakes and being overtaken by the likes of Williams and Haas.

It was a breath of fresh air, this kind of stuff never happened in '22 and does a whole lot at making you actually excited for each race weekend

Co-sign your opinion Freaky. I have not started a career yet as I'm just testing out the new in race mechanics in the race scenarios/moments. This game is a nice step up from 22 especially in the form of how the races play out. Much more dynamic than last year. You also need to be careful of when you decide to be aggressive or in attack mode depending on who you are using and their confidence at the time. I tried to attack at different times in the Belguim(sp?) challenge with Yuki and Riccardo and they both ended up causing crashes. Their confidence wasn't very high at the time.

If anyone is planning to pick this up with a widescreen monitor you need to know that an issue that existed last year before it eventually got patched is a problem again in 23. The in-game UI doesn't take into account that you have a widescreen setup and the UI stays right in the middle of the screen rather than going to the outer edges of the screen as it should. This of course can obscure some of the race.

I also wish the look of the game wasn't so grainy and had a more cleaner look.

Yeah, playing on my Ally so haven’t noticed it as much but I’ve heard turning down the graphics to high or even medium makes it look a lot better… not sure why but I’ve definitely seen visual proof on Reddit. Been using the helmet cam whenever not simulating at 4 or 8x so that helps with that with the hectecness of it all lol

Watch your funds when you start career mode. The part wear feature also makes it easy to lose track of how many parts you have and you may end up having to run one car without the upgrades or spend a good chunk of change to emergency develop one if you fall asleep at the wheel like I did lol
