When playing with players manually, it feels like plate discipline doesn't do a whole lot. I thought about a feature where the higher the discipline rating that a player has, the easier it is for the user to determine a strike or a ball. I believe that it impacts check swing ability, but I feel like much of it is wasted.
Currently, outside of check swings it feels like user controlled Juan Soto has the same discipline as user controlled [insert 200 k player here]. Since you are batting for every player, your discipline ability is basically applied to every hitter.
The feature could help simulate discipline ratings better. Maybe it could highlight the top, bottom, left, or right of the zone either red or blue depending on if it's a strike or a ball.
Maybe the higher the rating, could lead to any of the following, or a combination of them
1.) The more often it triggers.
2.) The more often it is accurate
3.) The more often it triggers on close pitches.
It doesn't have to be every pitch, but I feel like it could be cool to simulate this idea.
