So this is the year that next gen (or current gen at this point) takes off and starts to reach its full potential. I still don't have a next gen console, but if this year's game is actually a real next gen one, I may consider buying a PS5 sooner than I thought I would.
    My Specs:

    ZX Spectrum
    CPU: Z80 @ 3.5 MHz
    GPU: Monochrome display
    RAM: 48 KB
    OS: Sinclair BASIC

If this feature works as described, I'd like to see something like this in the near future:

NBA 2k on PS5 and Series X actually isn't too far off from looking like this.

I would really like to see how that works, i guess that means a lot less MoCap

sounds very interesting, but i also have to say i cant really complain about 2Ks animations over the years, always liked them, APF 2K8 still amazes me

I hope that 2K Share is also going to become cross-platform too. 🫰[emoji2535]

I'm not sure if I fully understand what ProPLAY Technology means but I'm intrigued. Like, how would it manifest itself into 2K? I've heard folks reference a similar system in Madden but I'm not familiar. Like, if Cade Cunningham unveils a new signature move this year, is it as easy as 2K just capturing it on the go and sliding it into the game? Is there a limit to how often this can be done? Will it be seamless? Awkward? I guess that's where the wait-and-see comes in.

As a classics guy, I also couldn't help but imagine if this could somehow make it easier to mimic and implement more classic signature movements. Seeing what they did with a guy like Dennis Rodman last year was amazing (signature running style, signature celebrations, signature taunts, possibly signature rebound animations at times).

ProPLAY aside, I love to see them leaning into the Moments modes. They have such an amazing base of classic teams, players, and courts to play with now (the deepest any sports game has every seen), it's absolutely the right move to take advantage of all the work by putting those teams to use in various forms. Plus, it's a fresh enough mode to make me consider buying again right off the top (assuming Eras is still a part of the game).

As a single player guy, that'd be huge.

They have my FULL ATTENTION with ProPlay. Looking forward to seeing what this looks like. On paper, this seems like it could be real next level stuff.

Sounds like the PC version will be last gen. I don't even play online for PC as I only play for the mods to make the game look even better.

What I would have done for this to have been in place back when the SimWorld guys were doing all their fictional draft classes with the PowerPoint scouting reports and whatnot. The worst part of moving from Xbox to PlayStation was that I couldn’t use their stuff anymore.

Seems like it’s some sort of AI capturing technology that can analyze video footage of old NBA games, capture different types of movements, and somehow implement that data in NBA2K.

I’m not sure how much can actually be captured at this stage as far as granularity, but if that’s what this tech is it will be the biggest leap in realism we ever see.

I’ve thought about this kind of tech for about a decade but had no clue it would be here so soon, I figured this would exist in like the late 2030s.

Again I have no idea if that’s what this is or how advanced it is at this stage, but I’m not sure what else it could be…

I’m all for new tech and features but this ProPlay, I’m gonna have to see it in action first before making any judgements. It almost sounds like this new tech might replace the old days of a guy in a suit MoCapping but I’m not sure.

And since it is the first year implementing this new tech, I’ll give it a 50 50 chance 2K somehow breaks something severely but again, need to wait and see

Proplay sounds cool as always. I’ll be on the wait and see side. Hard to buy too much into the marketing these days

Very intrigued by the sound of ProPlay. I would also be curious to see if it alters the player models like Maddens new technology.
