we need to make a sign towards 2k sports. i beg everyone DO NOT BUY NBA 2K24 ON PC. this game is full price even though they likely did Not implement any developments (at least when I Compare 2k23 to the current gen ps5/xbox Series s/x Version of the game) and it will just be the same game with tweaked gameplay where none of the (defensive) settings that actually work on current gen ps5/xbox Series s/x are implemented.



make a sign towards 2k: if they dont want to put in the effort of givong us the current Version of the game, then they have to live with gross Profits going down Hard.

I think they should remove MyCareer from the PC version and keep everything else intact. Solves the cheating problem lol

I know you're joking but I'd cool it with that sorta talk. People are crazy these days.

As to the topic, is it 'boycotting' to simply not buy something you already own? Usually boycotting entails some element of sacrifice (e.g., "Nestle is evil so I'm going to carefully avoid Nestle products, even if I enjoy them"). If 2K24 were old-gen but nevertheless contained some radically new features (as 2K23 did coming from 2K22), that'd be one thing, but if it's essentially the same as 2K23 -- except with Jordan Challenge replaced by Mamba Moments -- what's the sacrifice in skipping it? I had no intention of buying 2K23 either, but they legitimately added a ton of functionality to the game that I couldn't pass up (mostly derived from their work on MyNBA Eras). It's difficult for me to imagine what they could possibly add this year (to old-gen) that rises to that level.

I usually get it, but I'm gonna get the PS5 version and put the money on VC lol. Blah at PC for now. You should jump on Ps5, too or xbox if that's what you running on. Sad but true, even tho PC is amazing, 2k just ain't it on PC right now. They are dropping the ball in real time. It used to be like 20 so it was a no brainer, but who in the world would pay full price for that CG garbanzo ??? Even on sale it's DUM. I mean, I guess I'm not in my right mind haha, but I'm not buying it. Not a boycott per se, but there's no reason to. It's not offering anything.

Only thing you can hope for is that one of the big name NBA 2K YouTubers cares about PC and makes it a big protest movement. Unlikely to happen as most of those guys are exclusively console players or want to remain on good terms with 2K.

It's disappointing how PC gets treated by some developers. I had hoped that the 2K series would transition fast like last generation, but this is too much for me.

IMO there is little excuse at this point, if the concern is about average PC specifications by average users, then that is why graphics settings and sticking with 1080p resolution is key. Solid state drive pricing has gone down considerably over the years too and if someone wants to play the newest games, it should be expected they're going to have to make some upgrades eventually to their build to keep up.

I was already thinking about moving back to console gaming, mostly because I'm not hardcore about gaming like I used to be, but this cements it for me. I'll say goodbye to my RTX 3080 rig ��

The good news for me is that I barely have any experience playing current generation with only a few hours on 2K21, so when I dive in to 2K24 on a Xbox Series S (that I bet will go on sale for $200 later in the year), it will be a fresh experience.

Edit: I picked up a "renewed" Xbox Series S on prime day for $200 and also 2K23 for $7 (Gamestop still running that sale for digital version). As expected, it's definitely a step up from what I've been used to, and I'm liking the movement and more fluid and fresh animations as well as (it looks like) improved defensive rotations and improved AI offense. BUT I still think the change that made AI use shot timing makes them less threatening overall even on HOF difficulty.

If nobody buys 2K24 on PC, 2K will just pull the plug on the PC version all together for future years. Sports are console-first games usually and pretty much always have been. PC is more or less a luxury for the genre.

I feel u, but for real it’s just better. It’s not a small investment, but I did it. I am hoping for more bball titles, maybe a boxing gm (not feeling what I’ve seen from undisputed or w e,) but the kind of games I like do not exist anymore. Maybe some really niche stuff on pc.

The only game I play much is 2k. It was like this for 4, too. PS3 was the last system I bought many games for. I’d play other ball games, too, but I gotta have competition without 9 foot dudes running around. It’s worth it for me. I don’t play that much, even, but I go in some times. I basically need that. 2k cg isn’t that bad anyway. It has advantages, but man I def would urge you to reconsider consoles if you are a sports fan. As dude said, that’s the Mecca for them.

But fo sho it ain’t free. Gotta pay… console, game, maybe Vc and a flat fee to play online. It’s a joke but u gotta pay for Microsoft word and everything. Putting 550 or w e on something + 2k per year is not a huge price for me over 5-6 years or however long it will be. Once they drop the better ps5, they may lower the reg one or come out with a new one. I was on console first, but I don’t resent either. It’s a whole diff world. If it’s the money, it makes sense. If it’s anti console resentment, I urge reconsideration.

I still gotta give someone my God of War ps5 code haha. Had to buy that stupid bundle.

i do own a really modern PC, I play lots of different games on PC, also some PC exlusive games, all my friends with who I play mutliplayer games together are on PC. there is just not a single reason to buy a console outside of having the current gen 2k game. I do not play any other sports games.

also I basically only play in our online league which is on PC, so I might be able to play 2k but need to leave the league which is the only reason why I even play 2k.

PC will always be the red headed stepchild of NBA 2K because of people who just love to create cheats and the abundance of cheating fanboys. Is what it is. But can you really blame 2K for not making PC gamers a priority when they destroy the entire game anytime they play it?
