They're so greedy it's ridiculous. How much do they want us to pay every year. $1000?

NBA 2K24 introducing pay to win

This is objectively terrible. Anticipate +1 badge points, badge load outs and attribute sleeves to be locked behind a paywall now.

A game that has a $150 option, and a $100 option to purchase now is bleeding players for even more cash beyond VC. This practice of a battle pass is terrible for the consumer, and unless you make 2k your job you will miss out on key rewards to maximize your experience.

Now we have not one, but two premium battlepass options preying on gamer FOMO. This is an anti-consumer practice, is really off-putting and honestly kind of sours my excitement for 2k24.

I wouldn't have been able to play online when I was kid lol 70 or more just for the game. 100-150 for a build, not even maxing it out. Then 10-20 for a pass. Last two are optional but you would have to spend half the year playing just to get to maybe 85 overall. Kinda sad.

It's crazy that a lot of people are going to buy the $100 or $150 version, then spend an additional $100+ per build to max them, now buy a season pass up to $20, a likely more money to buy cosmetics. All the while, I'm over here debating on renting 2k24 on Gamefly for a while, then buying the game around Black Friday for 50% off lol.

I'm an offline gamer when it comes to MyCareer, so buying VC takes the fun away from my experience. In the past, I use to use the MYNBA2k app to farm VC before they stopped that around next gen start. I skipped 2k23 and I usually only play the game for a month or so because the offline MyCareer experience gets frustrating and boring because of the poor AI experience. If they could make AI teammates and team management experience in MyCareer, I would enjoy it more

I truly hate what gaming has become. Take Two should be ashamed of themselves with what they've done to tarnish brands like Rockstar and 2k over the years by trying to squeeze out every cent they can thanks to the rise of online gaming.

Saw someone make a good point about how it doesn't make sense given how short the seasons are in 2K compared to COD or other shooter games (usually 3 or more months). Apparently new seasons start every 6 weeks for 2K, so every month and a half you'll have to pay for another pass. Insane...

Yeah I'm that close to give up on the game. I was already tired paying $100 every year, now I'll even have to face boosted players who paid even more. They're killing the golden goose with moves like that.

STOP GIVING THEM IDEAS! At the same time I wouldn't be surprised in the least.

You guys know this will do well because of Youtube and those damn meta builds. I really wish that they would just make MyCareer as a separate game. Leave the NBA Game and all the single player parts alone.

All I want is to start out at 75 OVR. In the past when I use to farm VC using the MyNBA2k app, starting out at 75 OVR doesn't really take that long of a grind to get to 85. At 75 OVR, that's good enough to start out making an impact.

Starting out at 60 OVR is some BS, but at least it is not like when we use to start out at 40 OVR in the 2k11-2k13 era lol. But, I understand why that won't change. With the money they're are getting every year, it would be foolish to change it
