    Day 1 Patch details

This is really encouraging and I’m glad to see the developers are listening to the community.

Play like a superstar in EA SPORTS NHL® 26. From NHL EDGE data powering how superstars perform in-game to a reimagined Be A Pro mode that immerses you in the stakes and emotions of playing at the highest level, it’s time to show out and tell the world to Check My Game.

So now they're adding a permanent fatigue bar for the goalies?

      This is getting ridiculous.

Improvements and step backs with the goalie fatigue now permanently displayed.

Shouldn't have taken community feedback for them to realize these problems.

          Very disheartening indeed.

All promising changes by the devs. I hope they also remove the circle pressure graphic on ice, but it wasnt mentioned in that article. So maybe it will still be visible.

Would love to hear that they listen to other community feedback too. Presentation, customization and more.

It's not ridiculous that it's being added, it's needed for what they are doing. With that said, an option to hide that needs to be available. If its not, then its ridiculous LOL.

I'm going off the premise as the zone meter is permanent so is the goalie fatigue as they said it was permanent.

It’s almost like they’ve come up with all these ideas, people have played it and realised it’s going to be an absolute arcade fest (and total mess) so they’re backtracking on it all…

Re: NHL 24 Gameplay Updates Based on Community Feedback

Community Feedback - The poke check has become too difficulty to use based on the new tuning changes for ‘24. Now when I poke check not only do I recover slower but I incur a speed loss which allows puck carrier to easily blow by me if the poke check fails to connect.

Reverted Speed Loss to NHL 23 Tuning - We have tuned back the speed loss that was added during production back to the same tuning that was shipped in NHL 23.
Translation: the poke check was behaving too realistically. I don't like it when I can't spam the function like a machine gun anymore, from ridiculous angles.

EA Dev team: Make it arcadey again. We gotchu, fam!

As for the Human Goalie changes... Nothing changed. I mean, they apprently bringing back classic controls, so yay for that. But the tether system is STILL bad and is going to remain bad, just now you can step out of the crease 2 feet further. But you'll still be shot back as soon as you let go of the joystick, so it's going to be back to dancing like a lunatic in front of you net when all you want to do is stay in position in front of a puck.

EA... *sigh*... It's stuff like THIS that hurts my brain tumor injury.

I feel like every time they try something new with poke checks it always gets patched out before release day LOL

Remember in NHL 17 when they tweaked the poking to be harder to spam and be more realistic? Then when the casuals cried on Twitter and Facebook, EA patched that stuff out like 19hours later. Didn't even wait a full day.

                            LOL!

It's painfully obvious where the true focus of this game series is. No matter how many times the dev team changes and spouts nonsense about wanting to make the game more realistic, this game will always go in the arcade direction. This year, next year... In 20 years.

EA cares about the money. Devs might care about the product, but they are ultimately paid to do what EA says.

EDIT: And I just want to point out - This has been going on with EA since NHL '99. It's the same story as it's always been, from back then up till now. I'd like to keep hope that at some day things will finally change, but it's been almost 25 years of them going in the direction of NOT caring about the sport, NOT caring about hardcore fans wishes that the NHL series go in a more realistic direction.

It hasn't yet. Are we supposed to wait another 25 years, hoping against hope that things will get better? Aren't we allowed to be fed up and disanchanted with the series? Justifiably so?

If EA actually cared about their money they would have canceled this series a long time ago. lol
