    Retired Jersey Workaround?

I'm not sure if was available for 2K23, but definitely 2K22 and before, but has anyone found a workaround for retired jerseys? All I want is to create a Ben Wallace that has cornrows, so I can rotate between an afro or cornrows. This feature was available in 2k5 (!!!) as Ben was the cover athlete of that title.

Or, PLEASE add Ben Wallace's cornrows. He wore them more in Detroit than his afro, which was typically saved for select home games.

I like having retired jerseys, it adds to authenticity, but it's still a game and while 2K is miles ahead of other sports games in terms of sandbox elements, this is one I really think is simple and can help roster creators.

I was able to use retired jerseys by exporting DNA from the All-time rosters.

Would love to have more info on that, what did you export the appearance or the stats or both and can you still change everything after and the jersey nr sticks ? How about when you start a MyNBA can he still use the nr ?

So, I'm not sure we are trying to do the same thing.

I just wanted to use the 1983 Sixers Roster in my custom myNBA season composed of classic teams. When I imported the DNA from the Magic Era Mode (which was 1983), when I went back to MYNBA and imported the DNA, the number won't stick. Dr J was wearing #1 and Moses Malone was #0

Then I decided to use the All time roster DNA by putting the All-time Sixers team in another myNBA then exporting the DNA from there.

When I went back to MYNBA and tried replacing Embiid with Malone, Moses was wearing the #2 jersey, amd DrJ was #6.

There's a workaround by using one of the generic players from the classic teams, putting them on the target team and changing their name to the retired player's name. Then you'll be able to give them the retired number and then import the DNA of the guy you want in that spot. He needs to have that number set in his DNA though, you won't be able to switch it after you import him. I tested it in MyNBA with a custom roster and it shows up fine there. Here's a walkthrough I did for it:
