They could very easily decide to not put it back in. Also it’s not 50% of users. If it was they wouldn’t have removed it to begin with. I don’t know why they got rid of it, but most people use skill stick, so I understand why they thought it wouldn’t be a big deal.
To be honest, I'm more surprised it’s Late October. I thought it’d be January, pushed back to April based on how the NHL team usually handles updates.Comment

We run in different circles, because most people I know that play the game do. Pretty much all!!!
There is no data on this, nor would EA ever release it, but I am willing to bet the ranch over 50% )probably closer to 60-65%) use Hybrid...
You have to think, many people are like me and don't play online, so what is the advantage of figure skating if you are an offline player in your 50's who have always used buttons since the first iterations of this game? I’m not using the Hybrid controls, but like last year when they removed the True Broadcast without actual reasons, I really FEEL for you guys 😫
I posted this awhile back when they removed it, but when you think about it, it could be the truth 🤔 Now back to you lil Timmy….
I may be completely wrong, but here’s my take on this… Take this with a grain of salt, it’s Friday and the weekend is arriving 😀
(Somewhere in EA's office)
- lil Timmy: "Hey boss, if we wanna add that new controls scheme, we have to make room in the menu"
- BOSS: "There’s no room ?"
- lil Timmy: "Nope, we would have to put a new menu for controls Boss, I’m on it if you want ?"
- BOSS: "Nah, just remove the Hybrid, no need for that anyway, I think ?"
- lil Timmy: "I think lots of people are using that sir, and maybe instead of putting gauges on the ice and do the animated boards, I could work on revamping the menu and the essential stuff you know ?"
- BOSS: " Now listen to me lil Timmy… Just remove Hybrid and put it in the same spot in the menu, just like we did for True Broadcast camera last year. It’s all about cutting costs and who cares, not allot of people use it anyway"
- lil Timmy: "Will do boss, will do 😒"
