    Question from NBA2K16 fanatic

I played the heck out of NBA2K16, one of my favorite sports games of all time. Maybe it's because I'm an old gamer in my late 40s, but I just can't get the hang of shot timing in recent 2K games. So I'm wondering if there's an option I'm missing or maybe a slider suggestion that would make shooting more similar to 2K16? I know this is a bit of an obscure question. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

If you're offline, you can set shooting to a MUCH more realistic setting with sliders. Right now under online settings, it's way too easy.

Try "set point" under controller settings & it should be a lot easier.

Same thing for me - shooting on the new games doesn't feel right.

I go into sliders and change the shot success sliders for close, mid, 3 point, etc. and the other one that helps is "shot timing impact." Once you find the right balance of all of them and making the game competitive, it feels better.

It's not that you're old, but rather that you're a more demanding and harder-to-satisfy player. The younger generation is easier to please, no need for playbooks, advanced coaching systems, or realism; they just want card drawing, dribbling, dunks, and non-stop three-pointers with ridiculous accessories to put on their avatar. The timing of shooting has become too critical in the game, and it's too simplistic (the shooting system was decent in 2K21, but it needed refinement).

In short, take a look at the slider post; there are plenty of sliders to adjust. However, don't expect a game as polished as 2K16; 2K24 has quite a few bugs and inconsistent features. When it comes to coaching and offline play, 2K16 may have been the best in the series in terms of quality and content.
