I have created a file called Franchise read v2.3 which is going to be one of the final updates to my roster filed for the beginning of the season. This is to not be mistaken with STLgamers rosters by the same name which I did not realize I was taking his name until I had already had several versions out. His rosters are superb every year and he puts a lot of time into getting them right.
What mine offers is this, we know EA can't be relied on to put out a quality roster to begin the year, and despite everyone holding onto hope that player pictures would be added, we should have known it was not going to happen. MIne offers up to date roster moves for the NHL and AHL as of 10/21/23 with hours of edits to players that needed edits based on their age progression, and skill levels as of the beginning of the year.
Free agents were also edited much lower based on siting out training camp, or going unsigned, or the lack of wanting to play this season (Towes).
All player positions have been editted based on current depth charts so that the right personnel is making rosters in your Franchise mostly. I have done two tests today and less than 2% of depth chart adjustments that are on rosters the first week of the season was sent down to the minors.
Keep in mind, when you start your franchise, all the work you did to get the rosters accurate pretty much goes out the door when the cpu teams sign free agents.
