Defense is hard enuff now we don’t have a pass rush in any of the online games. Why does EA do this, makes no sense. It’s back to the 6 second pass rush and QBs running around to the side line all game, SMH.

They do it for money players, is my guess... more offense. I personally hate it...I don't play online bc that's pretty much all it is. What should really be done is if you want to play that style, competitive settings should apply, and if you want a more simulation style, then the rules should be respected. Ea strictly geared this game to the competitive group. Bc the beta played differently, and the minute cash plays didn't work like they needed, so they tuned down the defense for man and zone....this game shouldn't be only Sim game on the market. I'm ok with the competitive crowd getting the style they want, but I don't think the rest of us want that style in every game.

I have been getting good pass rush with the slider set I am using. Most of the rushes or sacks I get is when I user the lineman on defense, but I only user them on 3rd down or when I know the cpu is going to throw the ball, otherwise I user whoever covers in the middleComment

I think he referring to strictly online games....now does that mean online franchise is another question but if he's talking h2h online that may be the case...I've had no real issue in franchise play but slider sets do help that issue.

It’s both online and CFM. I play online just to get reps, don’t care about that. My wife doesn’t care what my record is, lol. But in our CFM no one is getting a pass rush since the latest patch. Just makes the game a mess and doesn’t resemble real football. Zones break down after a while and defnse is already hard enuff. I’ve noticed it on offense, my pass % is over 80 now because I know I won’t get sacked and my reciver will have time to run across the feild agaiant the crappy zone logic.Comment

Well that changes my experience a little. In my cfm the most sacked guy is Howell 35 times my QB Ridder 32 with a line of guys with totals going down from there. Sliders work for me there in that area as another guy mentioned...my experience online has been complete opposite so I stopped the online. Those stats are through 12wks. I'll have a look at the set up when I get done work.

Not sure why I can't add the picture but the lowest sacked person is Lamar Jackson with 6 through 12 games but alot of that is probably due to him having 156 rush attempts and 757 yards on the ground leading team in yards rushing and second on the attempts to Dobbins who has 178 attempts. There's a few guys like mahomes who's been hit just 14 times, which through 12 wks isn't too far off from where he is IRL where he has 12 sacks. While Howell IRL has been hit 47 times leading the QB position while in my he's at 39. I'd say maybe adjust the sliders a tick or two I use 63/100 for user and the AI 85/100. Big Nickel over G. It's a formation out of Nickel that replaces a corner with the safety and lines up as a linebacker over the guard. It's a pretty OP formation in Madden as far as blitzes go since it's really easy to shoot the gap and get pressure.

I would think online at 50 would be very difficult to generate a realistically consistent pass rush.
Offline the sliders work well to achieve the 2.5 per team per game average.Usering a d-lineman is effective enough you just have to find your sweet spot with the pass block slider which is likely 40 or a little lower yet.Comment

That was a big part of why I haven't bought the game yet. I was using the Chiefs in the demo and Chris Jones was getting single covered by low rated linemen and generating no sort of a rush unless I took control of him myself. Disappointing to read it seems to have gotten even worse.Comment

Total sacks is easy to achieve offline, but realistic pressure is not. The cpu qb will just eat sacks if they have less than 5 seconds to throw with no one open. Last time I tried cpu vs cpu I had the cowboys over 100 sacks bye game 9.Comment
