Balanced Offensive Linemen
I am by no means a pro at setting up my players for their "best" attributes. I have hardly ever focused on the "ultimate" offensive line. I want to change that. I have a play where I call the HB Counter, the one with 4 WR's. So, I am thinking a good run blocking offensive line. However, one of my audibles is a 4 Verts play. Well, now I need a good pass blocking offensive line. Would an offensive line that has balanced players for run and pass solve this?Tags: None -
Re: Balanced Offensive Linemen
How i set my oline up is i put my best pass blockers at tackle. I figure they can take DEs one on one. My center and guards i look for the highest run blocking. It works for me on having good pass protection and still be able to move the line in the run game

I run a typical pro style offense, so I do traditional pass blocking tackles, and then balanced everywhere else.I am by no means a pro at setting up my players for their "best" attributes. In the end it just depends on what kind of offense you want to run.

Re: Balanced Offensive Linemen
Adding to what Instant C1a55ic said, I prefer to micromanage my O-line positions a bit and I typically set it up like so:
LT- Highest PBK on the team
RG/LG- Agile run blockers, good ACC and RBK/Impact. Good for getting to the edge on counter and power runs.
C- Typically a more balanced guy, but sometimes I'll put a good run blocker here if I want to really run the ball, or a good pass blocker here if I want to wing the ball for 450+ pass yards a game.
RT- Usually my second best PBK on the team, who can usually hold his own in the running game.
Hope this helps!Comment
