Re: 2024 MLB Predictions Thread

I like CBoller's division prediction format, so I'll go with that:

AL East:
1. Orioles
2. Rays
3. Yankees
4. Blue Jays
5. Red Sox (I bet they won't even be half bad, but this is a crazy division)

AL Central:
1. Twins
2. Guardians
3. Royals (sleeper team?)
4. White Sox
5. Tigers

AL West:
1. Rangers
2. Mariners
3. Angels
4. Athletics

NL East:
1. Braves
2. Mets
3. Phillies
4. Marlins (Mets/Phillies/Marlins will be a battle for #2)
5. Nationals

NL Central:
1. Reds
2. Cardinals
3. Cubs
4. Pirates (if we keep going plakata all over the place like in ST, maybe 2 or 3?)
5. Brewers

NL West:
1. Dodgers
2. Diamondbacks
3. Giants
4. Padres
5. Rockies

Playoffs: irrelevant nowadays. Champion is the team with the best regular season record. So either the Dodgers or Braves.

Re: 2024 MLB Predictions Thread

World Series Champion: Anybody But LA (Dodgers specifically, the Angels are obviously out of it after Opening Day).

Biggest Disappointment - Tampa, 99 wins in '23, losing record in '24.

First Manager Fired - Boone. Or Nationals Martinez.

Biggest Surprise - NL Central sends two teams to October, narrowly missing a third. Cubs and Cards in, Reds just miss the cut. Even the Brewers will be in the hunt until the final week.

Over/Under Oakland Average Home Attendance - 10,000. This one a gimme. Easy under. Cue Don Meredith. Turn out the lights, the party's over. No Raiders No Warriors No A's. Big League city back in the bush league.

A's average home attendance
2023: 10,175
2022: 9,973

The Dead Franchise Walking Montreal Expos bottomed out at a little under 8,000 in 2001. The year after Hank Aaron left Atlanta (1975), Braves attendance averaged 6,683. I'm guessing the true A's O/U would be somewhere between those two figures.
