      1. Ken Griffey is my favorite player (I'm 36)
      2. San Diego Padres are my team of choice
      3. The Dodgers and The Giants. Hate them both equally growing up an hour from San Francisco.
      4. Watching The Cubs win that WS. Can't wait till SD gets to experience that.
      5. My favorite sports moment of all time is Liverpool winning the Champions League in a thrilling comeback vs Milan in 2005. Skipped school to watch with my grandmother who was born in Liverpool.

        Re: Celebrate The Game Questionaire.

        1. Bill Madlock made me a Cubs fan, but Andre Dawson before he came to the Cubs and always liked Dusty Baker. I was over the moon when he became Cubs manager.

        2. Chicago Cubs

        3. The St. Louis baseball organization

Edit***4. The Cubs winning the WS in 2016 but clinching the divisions in 84 and 89 are probably my two favorite sports seasons of all time

        5. The Cowboys winning the three Super Bowls in the 90s and vaguely remembering the others in the 70s.- Really partial to the Ryne Sandberg game on June 23, 1984.

Honorable Mention - Watching the Illinois Men's hoop team beat Arizona in the Elite Eight in 2005 to reach the Final Four. Down 14 points with just over 3 minutes to win the game was over the top.

Honorable Mention II - The six Bulls championships with Michael Jordan. He's forever going to be the GOAT imo and watching him play in the 80s and 90s was mind-blowing.

                  1. Jose Canseco

                  2. Toronto Blue Jays

                  3. The Damn Yankees!!

                  4. I was 12 and we were at Disney Land in California when my Dad surprised us with tickets to go watch Oakland play the California Angels. That was the year Oakland had Canseco, McGwire and Walt Weiss. It was my first game ever and some random guy went and bought me and my brother a signed (souvenir) baseball. We didn't have clue who he was but he had been talking to my Dad and said he was always excited when new people came to watch live games because they create a love of the sport that will last forever.

                  5. High School baseball. First round of the playoffs. We had to play a play-in game just to make the payoffs against the eighth ranked team just to get in as the last seed, which we won for only our 2nd win on the season. Anyway, we had to play the best team in the league which had only lost 1 game all season including 3 tournaments. They had outscored us 52-3 in the 2 games we played them in league. Anyway, they give me the ball on the mound, I was probably the 6th best pitcher on the team with a fastball that might have touched 50mph. I was mostly a junk pitch type pitcher.
Long story short, I through a 1 hitter, throwing only fastballs, and we won the game 3-1. It was the hugest upset ever in our divisions history!! I didn't even realize I had only given up only a single hit until we came off the field and out statistician told me. It was the greatest moment in my life in regards to sports.

The fun fact from that story, the only hit I gave up was a home run and I am pretty sure that the ball is still in the air.

                        1. Initially Alan Trammell, later Kirk Gibson.
                        2. Tigers
                        3. Old-school, Toronto. New-school, Cleveland I guess.
                        4. Gotta be Magglio’s walk-off vs the A’s.
                        5. Michigan over Alabama in the Rose Bowl and subsequent natty, 2023.
                        Just one man’s opinion.
I don’t actually care about any of this.

                          Re: Celebrate The Game Questionaire.

Nice thread idea, Bgrd! I'll give it a go...

                          1. Growing up: "The Hawk" Andre Dawson, All-time: "The Hammer" Hank Aaron

                          2. Cubs (NL), Tigers (AL)

                          3. White Sox, ohio [emoji23]

                          4. Game 5 of 1984 WS - growing up as Tigers fan, this was my first time experiencing a championship clincher in person, and as a young kid, being able to experience it with my grandad (the reason I'm such a huge baseball fan) was a great experience. Also, as a Cubs fan, I was hoping to have a WS matchup of my two favorite teams. In hindsight, I would have definitely been conflicted as a 10 y/o.

Honorable mention - Game 4 of the 2006 ALDS. Maggz walk-off to send the Tigers to the WS was, to this day, the most electrical thing I've ever witnessed!

                          5. The 2016 Chicago Cubs! I may or may not have shed a tear. I'm just reminded of my grandfather's words growing up, after being disappointed time after time, "Champ, those Cubs ain't never gonna do nothing." - until they finally did! I only wish I could have been there.

Honorable mention: Game 5 of the 2004 NBA Finals. This was the first professional championship I witnessed as an adult. Again, electric stuff. I had so many memories from The Palace as a young 20-something year old, which actually started in high school with a couple of state BB championship games played there.
