What happened to the signature free throws? Stances and timing is off

I can’t speak for current players but let’s look at the classic rosters for a spell….

Do you know Paul Pierce? I notice guys like Carlos Boozer and many other classic signature stances and motions are either broken or inaccurate. Paul pierce had a very unique free throw by putting his right foot behind his left foot and had a little bounce in his legs before the release. Gone. Who removes the accurate stances and why? Patrick Ewings release was very slow and unique also, now the entire stance and speed of release is off. Bill Cartwright had the most obscure free throw in history now it’s completely been changed to look like every other free throw.

Shaq for most of his years in the nba had a very slow release and really slowed things down when he went to the Lakers from the Magic. Fans know he was always Holding the ball at the top of his apex for a few seconds and would be difficult to time it making his shot difficult. As it should. Now it’s too fast.

Are guys like Jason Kidd blowing his kiss before the shot and Jeff Hornacek wiping his cheek before shooting still there? Nope.

Steve Nash always disgustingly licked his fingers dribbling up court and before a free throw then wiped his dirty finger in his hair. It was on the old 2K games. But it’s gone like the dodo bird.

Why?? Those who know the signature stances so see it for yourself. Anyone else notice any of their favorite players free throws being off? Any input appreciated. Peace.

Add Nick Van Excel and T-Msc shooting very far away from the line.

They have a lot correct. But you're right in that some are missing.

I thought Jason Kidd routine was definitely in the game. I'm going to double check in a few.

Edit: Are you sure Jeff Hornacek was removed?

Who would care about removing basketball mechanics and player signature animations in an NBA game?

Are you asking or telling us?

Most of the signature style you mentioned (and a lot more) is in the game.

Exactly.... Expect the ones I mentioned (like far away from the line)

I know for a fact the Jason Kidd one is in there. I play with both version of Kidd (Nets and Mavs).

I play with the Jazz, both Malone and Hornacek have their routines

              You can see Jeff’s here

Nash has his FT routine, and licks his fingers dribbling down court.

Not sure what I am missing

Ahh my bad. I guess there are exceptions. Paul Pierce is still wrong. Bust out 2010 and get Pierce to the line. That’s a perfect representation of his style!

Sarcasm? I’d assume? Lol. I know I’m being nitpicky.

I’ll check on Ewing and Cartwright, pretty sure they’re not right

No worries, I was just unclear as to why you thought every animation had been removed because Paul Pierce’s had been altered. I’m familiar with the 2010 animation you’re referencing. It hasn’t been in for a while now.

                        PP has always been unorthodox.

You can see here that he doesn’t do his usual exaggerated stance at the line.

Others you’ll find he does. Maybe it was a design choice like removing Kendrick Perkins exaggerated jumper because it’s something they don’t always do..

I think maybe the source of some your confusion is the fact that the free throw animations that display in the Signature Edits menu don't show the whole routine. Hornacek, for instance, still touches his face in game, but it doesn't show that in the Signature Edit screen, where it skips straight to the shooting form.

TlI think you knocked it out of the park. That's probably what happen here. I really thought this thread was about release timing at first [emoji23]. Which I have had a little beef with this year. But I'm not going to live I've enjoyed making the throws this cycle more then any other. It's not too easy but also not too hard. It's a weird feeling.

Ahh good find. I think he put his foot back when he won th4 championship in 08. I’ll have to look at some real games. He must have changed it up later on. I wonder if his old free throw stance is available somewhere in the free throw edits somewhere.
