After hours and hours only to be...

Ok.. so I spent literally hours and hours formatting a roster - adding missing players, making sure each team had the correct opening day 40 man roster, the correct line-ups vs both RH and LH pitchers, the opening day rotation and even working with some of the AAA line-ups and players. I put all the injured players in A division thinking I could then injure them when I got everything into Franchise.
So... with all that work I start my franchise with my up to date, hours of input roster and what does the game do? It changes everything! &##$!! It's as if I never did 40 man, line-ups, rotation, etc.
Is there any way to input your roster without the game changing it? Shouldn't there be an option to use the imputed roster unchanged? Did i miss it? If i want this accurate I've now got more hours (AGAIN) of work to make it right. Can you tell I'm not happy?

Nope! Been a gripe of mine for years.

Best thing to do is simulate spring training and then do your roster editing on opening day before you start the season. I too have to edit and fix the whole league to get it right.

Well, "misery loves company" I guess.
it's a catch 22... If you don't work on the rosters in terms of missing players or minor leaguers you think might get a call to the show (even though apparently SDS doesn't think so) then you won't be able to import anyone once you're in franchise. Of course, when you do all that work PLUS the 40 man, lineups, rotation, etc. it's blown to H*** and back once you go into franchise.
I think your suggestion is a very reasonable one. Get the people you want into your roster but wait on the 40 man, line-ups, etc until after you're in franchise and out of spring training.
I'm just wondering how hard would it be to have an option that says something like, "do not change saved loaded roster" when you go into franchise mode. I'mn not a coder so maybe the answer is "impossible."

I feel your pain. I learned to do all the adjustments after spring training the hard way last year. For injured players instead of putting them all to A ball you can set injures to Manual and do the injuries yourself. That how I do it. I manually do this to reflect real life. This way you can put someone on the 60 day IL to free up a roster spot if you need to call someone up who is not on the 40 man.
